[SLE] network device not found

I didn't modify rc.config b4, the problem is the system not properly shutdown, then I think some file is corrupt. Anywhere, I try SuSEconfig, and restart, it not help. And also trying rpm --verify -a|tee verify_file it still running at the moment. :( I run /etc/rc.d/init.d/network status, it give me this: eth0: error fetching interface information: Device not found I don't understand about eth0. Is it a file? In the module.conf file, I found a line is # YaST2: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RT8029(AS) alias eth0 ne2k-pci Can you tell more about network device driver in linux. >Fromthe descriptions on the first site listed below, it looks like the "Professional" versions is basically the same as what we have been getting, but w/ some other stuff added (i.e. the installation and configuration manuals, etc.). I too hope they don't raise the price much. I does seem strange there isn't anything on the SuSE web sites - and that they've been pretty quiet about this. [SLE] Networking question

Hello networking gurus. I have a problem that I can't seem to solve. On our network we have 16 real IP adresses in the 145.94.xxx.xxx range, subnetmask 255.255.255.240. Our gateway is an isdn router. I want to install a firewall, but I don't want to change the workstation's IP adresses. My firewall has two ethernet cards. The first is connected with a crosslink cable to the router, the second to the rest of the network. What I would like to know is what ifconfig parameters I should use for the cards, and what /etc/route.conf should look like. Because of that programming oversight it may be possible to overwrite the heap to cause arbitrary code to execute on the system. [SLE] irq conflict

Have a new Microstar K7T Pro (MS-6330) with 750 MHz Socket A chip, Award Bios. 2 SCSI cards (2nd for diff tape drive), built in Sound, Nvidia AGP, 2 NIC's. In the Bios: Serial and parallel ports (irq 5) are on, USB off. PNP off (but have tried with it on). No ISA slots in this board. SCSI cards set to IRQ 7 & 8 respectively. I have been trying to get the program Lilypond going for quite a while now without any luck at all. I wonder if they have leaked the info to test if SuSE customers would be happy with this move? I understand that there is a market to produce a version without a manual, but I think SuSE do produce a CD set without a manual already, so it looks like plans to produce distros like RH. I personally purchased SuSE 6 and 6.3 because of the excellent reviews and the good value for money.
