Go for a nice Apple Mac G3 500 PowerBook... It runs SuSE6.4, MacOS, as well as Windoze 95/98/2000 (if you really want to) and on top of that SuSE6.4 running brilliantly well... well except that the sound subsystem isn't well controlled, and X11 utilities really need to be rewritten and there are these hideous references in the disto to X86... what a sin. Still it works!! Do not worry -- PCI can happily share interrupts, and the only thing you could do is to disable builtin peripherals that you are not using in order to free up their IRQ's, and even then you might not see a change in the IRQ assignment because each PCI slot has only 4 IRQ's to chose from and no way for you to manually chose them. [SLE] which laptop with Linux?

Hi, I am interested in buying a laptop to install SuSE Linux onto it. I have been looking for an HP Omnibook XE2 to do the job. The questions is: Is anybody working with this notebook with the SuSE/Linux distro? I've read the sound card is a "Maestro 3" and no drivers are available. Is this true? "X" can be configured via XFree 3.3.6 so that should not be a problem. Is the modem a win-modem? Also, if you do not have this kind of laptop, can you recommend the one you are using with SuSE??
