I tried installing the development version (gtk 1.2.8 of helix)...I still get the same error. Do I have to edit a header file somewhere? Well, there are two places to look specifically for this information (since SuSE is a little different). a) The really fine manual that SuSE provides ;) b) /usr/doc/packages/firewals/EXAMPLES gives outstanding scenarios, and I believe one of these should cover _exactly_ what you may be looking for. SuSE 6.4 has version 1.1.18 of IBM's JDK/JRE on CD. I don't know if it's compatible with SO, but at least you don't have to download it to find out. [SLE] CD to mp3 programs

Anyone know of a good program to record and translate CD audio to MP3 format? I've attempted to use the ripit.pl script, but I don't think I understand all the components involved. I've seen this many times but I keep forgetting to ask: What does "non-contiguous" mean? [SLE] Wake-on-LAN feature ... What is it? Useful?

Greetings! I normally use Netgear FA310TX network cards in my system. When a store that I get my NICs at ran out of Netgear because of a promotional sale, I got SMC EZNET-10/100 for the same price ($20USD). SMC had a real nice package: a NIC with a wake-on-LAN connector and cable, a 6-foot CAT5 network cable and a Turbo Linux CD. Killed two birds since I didn't have to buy an extra cable. I had previously heard of wake-on-LAN, but I'm not sure what it actually does beyond taking the computer out of stand-by. What does wake-on-LAN do in practical terms? Is this a useful feature for a Linux system, either as a workstation or server? Thanks!
