[SLE] Brahms and alsa

Hello, I'd really like to start trying Brahms but I'm getting no sound. Other apps such as xmms are working with no problem. I've SuSE 6.4 installed, an SB AWE32 card, and OSS compatability seems to be working. At first there were no output choices in Brahms so I manually loaded some of the modules and now EMU8000 is showing up as an output choice. Anyway, I've looked around and haven't found a faq that deals with Brahms and alsa together. Does anyone have the steps it takes to get this working or that can tell me what to check? I noticed that the kernels at ftp.kernel.org are available either in gz or in bz2 format. Is bz2 preferable? What program do I need to unpack bz2 files? Hello, I'd like to know how can I reply a mail automaticaly. For example, if I am out of the office, all of e-mail that I receive are replied with a e-mail that say that I'm out of the office. Can I do it with sendmail? [SLE] Some problems with X configuration on Suse 6.4

Hi all, I have an IBM Aptiva Pentium 133 with an ATI MACH 64 on board video card and an IBM G40 monitor. IŽm trying to configure X windows using SaX and I canŽt find G40 in the monitors list so I select the refresh rates manually and when run the test the screen turn black and I canŽt see anything. [SLE] Getting started with RAID 1

Hi all , I have 2 identical SCSI 9 GB hard drives on my main Linux box. There are 4 primary partitions on /dev/sda .. / , /boot , /home and swap. /dev/sdb is unused, unformatted ... How can I set up a RAID 1 mirroring system, without disrupting my setup ? I just need to get some pointers to get started ...
