My mail server has been down since yesterday afternoon. I switched over to another server, but I have been out of the loop. I was trying to get my sound working and stumbled on this in the archives. This is a great source of information. "You installed the new OSS on upgrade? Mine works fine after a full reinstall, so the package is ok. Reinstall OSS & all should be fine. " It worked for me! [SLE] CFS on 6.4

I'm using CFS (Cryptographic File System) 1.3.3, which I installed from an RPM. I recently upgraded from SuSE 6.3 to 6.4. I re-installed the RPM, and as far as I can see my configuration is identical to what it was before. But now when I start up CFS (from a script in /sbin/init.d) with these commands: tartproc /usr/sbin/cfsd || return=$rc_failed mount -o port=3049,intr localhost:/.cfsfs /crypt || return=$rc_failed cfsd appears to start correctly (no error messages, I see the daemon in the output of ps), but the NFS mount fails with Starting service cfs... cfs ready [1136] mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on localhost:/.cfsfs, or too many mounted file systems Does anyone have any idea where I should start looking? [SLE] fnmatch

just curious doing a little koding and I can't find a function to match a wildcard string and a normal string. I have found fnmatch and tested it but i'm not positive if it will match all strings. basically i'm looking for something that i could use to search for text (not filenames) using wildcards. i have been using fnmatch( wildcardstr, str, FNM_NOESCAPE ). [SLE] SoundBlaster Live! Audio CD Support?

I think I've seen a few posts on this subject, but don't recall anyone on the list or from SuSE ever replying, so I'll ask again. Does the SBLive! card support audio CD sound under Linux with the emu10k1.o driver or not? I have sound for the desktop, I can play .wav files and MP3's, but don't get any sound when playing music CD's. I have a zip drive and use SuSE 6.1. This is what I do. In 6.1, under the series "ap", you will find "ziptool". Install ziptool if you haven't already. To eject , enter %ziptool -e <device> On my machine, the zip drive is /dev/sda: %ziptool -e /dev/sda Note that this is not the *partition* "sda4." I believe ziptool won't try to eject if the zip disc is still mounted whereas the eject button might, but I'm not sure. [SLE] ISDN connection fails - Help!

I am having great difficulty establishing a connection using ISDN; using isdnctrl I can dial the correct number, etc. but it seems no authentication is taking place (ISP says PAP is the correct setting). I have checked all of the files in /etc/ppp and /etc/isdn and can't see anything incorrect. Has anybody had a similar experience and if so what solved the problem? Have got my ide zip drive to work fine with the exception that I cannot eject the disk whether it is unmounted or mounted. When you boot from a CD-ROM drive, I believe the PC boot the first CD-ROM/CD-RW drive that it finds. If your CD-ROM and CD-RW drives are on the same cable, then set your CD-RW drive to be the master and the CD-ROM to be the slave. Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong.
