Yep, I reckon this accursed 'feature' should be removed forever from YaST - it happened to me again just over the weekend, exactly as you describe... it is such a PITA to try and find out your ISP's IP address when you can't connect to the web. Sometimes YaST leaves it untouched, other times it just wipes it. It drives me mental. k. [SLE] yast & manual configuration

I have a fairly old, long running, 6.2 installation that has been updated to 6.3. I believe that somewhere along the way I have done some manual configuration that has confused yast. Unfortunately, I don't remember what I have done. My local network works well and I regularly use a ppp connection to my isp. When I decided I wanted to change my nameserver IP, I discovered problems: Changing the nameserver IP via yast seems not to work AND I cannot make long term changes in /etc/resolv.conf. In a probably related issue, yast no longer lets me get to "Network base configuration" by way of "Network configuration" and "System administration". "Network base configuration" is white and not selectable. Who can give me a clue on how to get my mess cleaned up? [SLE] Airport Wireless on SuSE

I curious, Is anyone using an Airport compatible card with SuSE and if so, what software, drivers would I need? I have an Airport base station that I use with my iBook and would love to know if I could install Linux on it (iBook) and/or put a card in my Linux box (PC). [SLE] Shell script user interface utilities

Quite a few years ago now, I was working on HP-UX workstations for a living. We had a rather cool piece of software (whose name I can't remember) which allowed you to write nice user interfaces designed to be called from shell scripts. Basically, you defined your user interface such as a menu or a dialog prompter etc. in a text file and passed the name of the file to the utility from your shell script and it would display the ui you defined using curses on your xterm or console, returning the result of the user interaction to the calling shell script. It only took a couple of minutes to get something really nice hooked up to your scripts. I think the utility we used was commercial. I was wondering if there are any such utilities available for Linux/bash as I have a few scripts I've been working on and would like to make them look really nice and easy to use. [SLE] Konqueror and Icewm

Hi I followed Ben's advice and checked out Konqueror.........and yes...it's nice. However I am having one problem. I don't normally use KDE...I prefer to use Icewm as my window manager. If I try to run Konqueror, from Icewm I receive lots of warnings about missing processes, which I assume are part of the tightly integrated KDE2 environment.. Has anyone managed to successfully run Konqueror from Icewm, and how? Hello, Has anyone messed with this program? The instructions say to call it with /opt/enlight/bin/dsm, but it doesn't. There is no dsm. It looks interesting, but I can find little documentation. Their site is of little help for linux.
