Did this and it still updates and blanks resolv.conf. I have tried turning off all automatic configuration not just the resolv.conf and it still happens I now have an update script that copies a backup of resolv.conf. I run it every time I log on and before starting my mail
Yep, I reckon this accursed 'feature' should be removed forever from YaST - it happened to me again just over the weekend, exactly as you describe... it is such a PITA to try and find out your ISP's IP address when you can't connect to the web. Sometimes YaST leaves it untouched, other times it just wipes it. It drives me mental. k. On Sunday, October 29, 2000 6:50 PM, Richard Davies [SMTP:linux@tollyboy.demon.co.uk] wrote: program

There are several applications messing with resolv.conf, pppd and dhcpcd being just two of them. If you want YaST to leave it along, set RESOLVCONF to "no" in /etc/rc.config. But this does not stop the other apps to mess with it... I got tired of it, so I wrote a little script that resets resolv.conf the way I want it when I want it. JLK On Monday 30 October 2000 06:38, Kester Clegg wrote:
