[SuSE Linux] Netscape can't load Acrobat Plugins

Hello, I'm using SuSE 6.1 [2] 5584 bash-2.02# ERROR: libc.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Cant load plugin /usr/X11R6/lib/Acrobat3/Browsers/intellinux/nppdf.so. Ignored. [SuSE Linux] Installation tip

NEWBIES -*- PAY ATTENTION: During the process of learning linux I went through MANY installation sessions. You can really learn a lot that way. One of the things I learned is to have a separate partition where I keep anything I want to save when re-installing a distro, particularly configuration files and sources for non-distro files I have downloaded. [SuSE Linux] Customize SuSE-Linux *CDs*

Hello! I have already figured out how to make a bootable SuSE linux distribution CD with mkisofs and cdrecord. No problem, works 100%. (Have not had a coaster in about 50CDs with my Mitsumi CR-4801 in linux 2.2, BTW.) Now, there is a lot of configuration files in suse/setup, suse/setup/descr, suse/images and whatever there is (cannot write it down from the top of my head). Some of these are read by yast to find out descriptions of packages, what/how many packages there are and so on. Can somebody please tell me, what files yast looks for/into, what needs to be there and all these things. What do I have to change when I add/delete packages from a distribution CD before I cdrecord it? Are there any scripts like in RedHat that do these things for you (Red Had uses something like src/install/genhdlist to generate a list of packages for the setup program). Nobody :) needs for example the french HOWTOs and the serbian man-pages and stuff like that. Instead things that are more useful for friends could go on the CD instead. Help would be much appreciated. I know, I could look through the Yast sources, but, hmmm, that is the last option, really. Perhaps somebody can point me to the right documents in case they are available online. But then, again, why should SuSE assist people in copying their CDs? (Although they cannot do anything about that and have to live with it.) [SuSE Linux] Accented characters ( LATIN-1 )

I'd like to be able to enter latin characters in KDE via the keyboard using my US keyboard. Surely there are some Canadians on this list who have done this to enable French character entry? My primary interest is to be able to use a compose or dead key for the entry. For example 'e -> e acute, `a -> a grave. I can do this *within* emacs but not under X. I speak Irish Gaelic and I'm planning on adding support for Irish Gaelic to KDE. But as a first step I need to be able to be able to enter the text. [SuSE Linux] Booting SuSE and BeOS; I need some help here

Hello there, I just installed BeOS R4 on my system, which also has win98 and SuSE Linux on it. The bootmanager works fine when I boot win98 or BeOS but not when I want to boot SuSE. When I try to boot SuSE I get the following message; Loading SuSE Boot sector signature not found I should mention that I reinstalled SuSE after I installed the BeOS, so I don't know whether that might be the cause of my problem. When I configured and installed Bootman, however, all partitions were readily recognized. My windows partitions are recognized as dos and my linux partitions are recognized as linux native and linux swap, so there's no problem there . [SuSE Linux] Brother MFC-7150C Printer

Hi there, I'm having some trouble finding the correct print filter to use with a Brother MFC-7150C color printer. The Brother manual suggests Epson compatibility, but none of the Epson filters listed in yast seem to do the trick. Is anyone out there using this model printer successfully, please let me know your configuration. [SuSE Linux] Cron Job

Hello. I have created a perl script that must run every so often. The cron seems to run everything with /bin/sh I simply changed my rather simple script to accomodate this. But this can't be for real!!! I have some "heavy-duty" perl scripts that will be cron'd quite soon (today/tomorrow) Will changing the following in /etc/crontab work? SHELL=/bin/sh to: SHELL=/bin/bash or will my cron'd perl scripts still not work? Also...
