Q: Autologin for SuSE Tumblweed LxQt / Lightdm

Hi, I have SuSE Tumblweed with LxQt. In the past I edited /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf [Seat:*] autologin-user=username Unfortunately, now there are no such file in /etc/lightdm/ Is it moved somewhere, or I just should create one? Do I need to o this: groupadd -r autologin gpasswd -a username autologin groupadd -r nopasswdlogin gpasswd -a username nopasswdlogin Thanks in advance Andrei

filesystem and glibc update

A few months ago I did a zypper dup on my Tumbleweed system. This was when there were changes in where things were in /usr. It destroyed my system. So I reverted to a previous snapshot and decided to wait a bit to see if a later update might do better. I tried a new zypper dup yesterday, and the same issue happened. Luckily I was able to keep the messages this time. I searched a bit (google) and did not find anything about this. But given the dearth of existing ones, I am wondering what might be different on my system compared to what others are running. If I foolishly continue the dup (after all, many packages have been installed - I don't want a dead system for that reason - and this is a test of being able to do this update), when it installs glibc, all goes a over t: Abort, retry, ignore? This is what happened earlier. So what is confusing the filesystem RPM? There is a warning, and the cp command files. Why? cockpit not config in tumbleweed

Guys, Was hoping to get cockpit working in Tumbleweed, but when I went to enable it to run it I get this message systemctl enable cockpit The unit files have no installation config (WantedBy=, RequiredBy=, Also=, Alias= settings in the [Install] section, and DefaultInstance= for template units). This means they are not meant to be enabled using systemctl. Possible reasons for having this kind of units are: • A unit may be statically enabled by being symlinked from another unit's .wants/ or .requires/ directory. • A unit's purpose may be to act as a helper for some other unit which has a requirement dependency on it. • A unit may be started when needed via activation (socket, path, timer, D-Bus, udev, scripted systemctl call, ...). • In case of template units, the unit is meant to be enabled with some instance name specified. You don't need to search, I gave you the exact URL - I'll repeat it: ftp://asrockchina.com.cn/Manual/H310CM-HDVM.2.pdf Which means: FTP protocol asrockchina.com.cn host or machine /Manual/H310CM-HDVM.2.pdf Path and file name. And I used firefox. There are many other programs that will do. On Windows, I think explorer does it, or WinFTP, or Firefox. Very early at the start of the machine boot sequence, you will see a message that goes out fast that says something like press F1 to enter setup, press F10 for boot options. Leap 15.2 and Bluetooth mouse problem

Hi ! I'm struggling to connect Bluetooth mouse via USB BT 4 dongle (some unknown brand from China bought in domestic store). Everything works on Windows, so its seems to be a software issue on Leap 15.2. For whatever reason system can't init device: Can't init device hci0: Invalid argument (22) I can buy another Bluetooth dongle but I'm not sure problem will be solved because it could be again same chipset (Cambridge Silicon Radio). I recently installed another Linux system on one machine which already has Windows and Leap 15.3. The problem is that the "new" Linux has installed its own operating system selector at boot-up, and it's hard to read and quite fast. Is there any way to get back to the Leap-installed boot selector? (If so, how? thanx--doug

No more transparency since latest nVidia driver update

Hello List, Since the latest nVidia driver update (2 days ago), the desktop seems to have lost transparency support (Leap 15.2 / KDE 5 / Plasma). Kernel: 5.3.18-lp152.87-default nVidia driver: G05-470.63.01 (from nVidia repo) HW: Lenovo P53 with Optimus graphics + suse-prime-0.7.14 Anyone else noticed that? TIA Ph. Safe to upgrade TW with a 2 month+ gap since the last update?

Hi, I'm going to be in hospital for about 2 months and won't be able to use my laptop during that time. Is it safe for me to upgrade TW with a 2 month gap of no updates or should I just reformat and install the newest version from scratch? Thanks. Simon.
