Weird: after the lightning strike in July, I replaced an HP printer with a duplicate. The original was never installed in Leap, so I figured it's HP, it ought to be easy. No such luck. It even gave me its IP address. Leap can't see it. But it can ping it. BUT! Windows can see it but can''t install it! Windows can ping it also. Two machines, same problem. BUT! I installed Mint on a laptop, and it automatically found the HP and prints to it happily. Same lan, same router, etc. What could be going on? Ideas? --doug

for dup from 15.2, adding even those special 15.3 repos before? backports and SLE15updates repo?

Hello list, for a dup from 15.2 to 15.3, would it make sense or is it possible to even add those special 15.3 repos before? backports and SLE15updates repo? wondered when I dup an online connected 15.2 to 15.3, it misses all those many update/packages coming from those two special repos. when I look into what comes from via those repos, I notice such stuff as openssh, openssl and many more. meaning: an updated 15.2 to 15.3, initial reboot, such a system is highly attackable and insecure as it initially is missing all those many updates from those two very important repos. only from the then online 15.3 system can one use those two additional repos (which have then been added by the dup process) and show up in the rebooted online 15.3 system. then another round of zypper up is needed to make the system safe. am I missing something important here or is this an accepted situation and by design? ty.

problems with update repo for 15.2/OSS?

Q: Autologin for SuSE Tumblweed LxQt / Lightdm

Hi, I have SuSE Tumblweed with LxQt. In the past I edited /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf [Seat:*] autologin-user=username Unfortunately, now there are no such file in /etc/lightdm/ Is it moved somewhere, or I just should create one? Do I need to o this: groupadd -r autologin gpasswd -a username autologin groupadd -r nopasswdlogin gpasswd -a username nopasswdlogin Thanks in advance Andrei

filesystem and glibc update

A few months ago I did a zypper dup on my Tumbleweed system. This was when there were changes in where things were in /usr. It destroyed my system. So I reverted to a previous snapshot and decided to wait a bit to see if a later update might do better. I tried a new zypper dup yesterday, and the same issue happened. Luckily I was able to keep the messages this time. I searched a bit (google) and did not find anything about this. But given the dearth of existing ones, I am wondering what might be different on my system compared to what others are running. cockpit not config in tumbleweed

Guys, Was hoping to get cockpit working in Tumbleweed, but when I went to enable it to run it I get this message systemctl enable cockpit The unit files have no installation config (WantedBy=, RequiredBy=, Also=, Alias= settings in the [Install] section, and DefaultInstance= for template units). This means they are not meant to be enabled using systemctl. Possible reasons for having this kind of units are: • A unit may be statically enabled by being symlinked from another unit's .wants/ or .requires/ directory. • A unit's purpose may be to act as a helper for some other unit which has a requirement dependency on it. • A unit may be started when needed via activation (socket, path, timer, D-Bus, udev, scripted systemctl call, ...). • In case of template units, the unit is meant to be enabled with some instance name specified. You don't need to search, I gave you the exact URL - I'll repeat it: ftp://asrockchina.com.cn/Manual/H310CM-HDVM.2.pdf Which means: FTP protocol asrockchina.com.cn host or machine /Manual/H310CM-HDVM.2.pdf Path and file name. And I used firefox. There are many other programs that will do. On Windows, I think explorer does it, or WinFTP, or Firefox. Very early at the start of the machine boot sequence, you will see a message that goes out fast that says something like press F1 to enter setup, press F10 for boot options. Leap 15.2 and Bluetooth mouse problem

Hi ! I'm struggling to connect Bluetooth mouse via USB BT 4 dongle (some unknown brand from China bought in domestic store). Everything works on Windows, so its seems to be a software issue on Leap 15.2. For whatever reason system can't init device: Can't init device hci0: Invalid argument (22) I can buy another Bluetooth dongle but I'm not sure problem will be solved because it could be again same chipset (Cambridge Silicon Radio).
