[support] sleep/suspend/hibernate don't

This PC is my brother's, originally installed 24 months ago by myself with 15.1. He claims sleep/hibernate used to work before the upgrade to 15.2, and now 15.3. He wants hibernate/sleep to work again. To generate the following, I first booted to multi-user, logged in as root, then issued systemctl start systemd-suspend. I was sure there was recent discussion about this subject either on a mailing list or on the forums, but I'm not finding it. Is there anything in the two logs to explain why an attempt to suspend or hibernate results either in: 1-several seconds of black screen without a poweroff, then all coming back as if resume had been intentionally triggered, or 2-several seconds of black screen without a poweroff, then all coming back as if screenlocker had been triggered, or 3-reboot Does anyone know of some bug that needs a workaround, or a fix or config change required? Is this supposed to be controllable via YaST? The only place I see power control settings are in Plasma's systemsettings, where screen energy saving and suspend session are enabled, but the other three checkboxes (including button events) not. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science. 15.2 - keepassxc - Bad Solver - requires removal of keepassx 0.4xx (no actual conflict)

All, The .spec for keepassxc has a problem. It refuses to install keepassxc unless the user removes keepassx 0.4.x. That is unneeded. There is no actual conflict and it is ridiculous for the package to insist on removal of a prior competing version. Why was this new forced deprecation added? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

Hi, I tried to remove a repo using zypper, which I didn't want, and I think I might have accidentally removed an official one. Can anyone give me a list of all the repos I should have from a default TW install, please? Thank you. Simon.

Help - Realtek RTL8852AE WiFi

Folks, I'm really desperate now... got a new laptop Lenovo L15 AMD Ryzen 7 :) really super in every way **except the WiFi** no matter what I try Leap 15.3 or Tumbleweed just can't get the WiFi going. I got the machine as it is Ubuntu certified so thought should be ok. Googling seems to suggest it works under Ubuntu, but no matter what I try just cant get this WiFi going under openSUSE seems the driver from Realtek is up to version 4.x but can't find any trace of it on openSUSE. SSH Tumbleweed OpenSSH_8.4p1, need to enable root

Guys, Hey, so I been redoing my libvirtd servers and I notice that sshd_config and ssh_config files are no longer in /etc/ssh . ├── ssh_config.d ├── ssh_host_dsa_key ├── ssh_host_dsa_key.pub ├── ssh_host_ecdsa_key ├── ssh_host_ecdsa_key.pub ├── ssh_host_ed25519_key ├── ssh_host_ed25519_key.pub ├── ssh_host_rsa_key ├── ssh_host_rsa_key.pub └── sshd_config.d There are now ssh_config.d and sshd_config.d folders. I have to enable root login because i have a master virt-manager that manages the other libvirtd servers. This new setup disables root access all together and I spent a few hours trying to google how to re-enable root access. I also need to know how to set my port back up on their special. Issue with gvim package

Hi, I'm using Tumbleweed on RPi 4 and the gvim package is pretty hopeless. Not sure if this is related to the platform I'm running, or if it's just buggy. If any OpenSuse developers are reading this, please take note of the following: 1. The only gvim available in Tumbleweed repo is the one with Gtk3. The Gtk3 GUI is painfully jerky/laggy when scrolling lines of text. Debian for example, have Gtk2 and Gtk3 versions of gvim. Could someone please do the same for OpenSuse. 2. There is a really annoying bug with OpenSuse gvim. When I split the window vertically, there is no scroll bar visible on the right window, the left window has a correct scroll bar. This looks like a GUI bug of some sort, but it has been like this for quite some time now. Does anyone use gvim on Tubleweed and can confirm the same issue?

Bluetooth pairing, Leap 15.3/KDE-Plasma

Hi, My USB-Bluetooth adapter can't pair with my bluetooth headset. It worked in Leap 15.2. The bluetooth assistant, i.e. the bluetooth applet searches for the headset, but doesn't find it. hwinfo (below) outputs much information, I hope I found the interesting bit. Any ideas? grup screen wrong rotation

I installed OS 15.3 on a Lenovo Ideapad Duet 3. One problem is that the grub menu, all boot messages, the decryption passphrase and the KDE-login screen are shown rotated (instead of up to down the lines go left to right). I put fbcom=rotate:1 and also tried video=efifb fbcon=rotate_all They have no effect. Repositories whitelist

Hello!, In an isolated environment I would like to avoid VMs accessing Internet directly to grab updates. I'll probably create a local mirror with The Foreman + Katello, but meanwhile I'll force the use of an HTTP proxy. The proxy I'm using (embedded in OPNsense) allows dynamic whitelists, where the firewall can grab the list from an URL. Are there official repositories lists for OpenSUSE that I could use to feed it?. Regards, CI.-
