[opensuse] adding a static route

My recent install figured out the basic networking: $ route -n Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.1 0.0.0.0 UG 100 0 0 eth0 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 100 0 0 eth0 But I also need a static route to another (local) network. I can do this (old school) with: route add -net 10.10.0.0/16 gw 192.168.0.98 eth0 and then I have: $ route -n Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.1 0.0.0.0 UG 100 0 0 eth0 10.10.0.0 192.168.0.98 255.255.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth0 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 100 0 0 eth0 But how do I do this in 24.3? I searched duck-duck, tried what the links there suggested... none of that worked. Also went into yast -> Network Services -> Network Settings, turned on Wicked, went to Routes, typed in the data, but was given a long error message: it didn't like my data. Is there a config file I can enter data into instead? Hi, the following works on all (Leap 42.3 and Leap 15.1) installations, but not on a Leap 42.2 (don't know if version causing the problem). sudo doesn't seem to respect files in /etc/sudoers.d/ # ssh -t sysupdateuser(a)422machine.swabian.net 'sudo zypper ref' We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System Administrator. [opensuse] Upgrade Leap 42.3 -> 15.0 Disaster

Hi, I have just upgraded 2 pcs with Leap 42.3 to 15.0, and both have problem with networking. 1) PC #1, Linux workstation, networking broke (single static IP ethernet), redefined in yast, now working. Teamviewer 12 stopped working, hanging for forever on launching GUI. Reinstall don’t help. 2) PC #2, Linux KVM host with 10 ethernet interfaces and 2 VyOS router QEMU instances. 1 static local IP 192.168.0.172, for management. 7 ethernet interfaces enslaved for bridges, used by VyOS routers. eth0 - 192.168.0.172 Bridges: eth2 - brltc1, eth3 - brbtc1, eth4 - brdmz, eth5 - brint eth6 - br_eth6, eth7 - br_eth7, eth8 - br_eth8 eth1, eth9 - unused In Yast (screenshot can’t be attached for mailing), looks like everything is OK, yet it is not. Networking messed up completely. Some interfaces, incl. eth0, are simply lost by Wicked. Both firewalld and SuSEfirewalll rpms are removed from the system. BTW, I assume SuSEfirewalll should be marked as conflicting with firewalld. Is there any way to fix this, or I should wipe out entire OS and install back to 42.03 ? Thanks in advance for any help. [opensuse] Command line webpin gives 404 -- it is just dead for 42.3?

Title says it all, Installed webpin, hacked the distro.version to add 42.3 (like I've had to do since 11.0), and while it was working great on 42.2, I get a 404 response when I run it from 42.3. So is it just dead or are we having index issue? -- David C. All, Where is cinelerra_cv for 42.3? I have 18 years of video done in cinelerra and it has always been available for opensuse via packman. I cannot find it? On leap 42.2 it is from: /var/cache/zypp/packages/packman/Multimedia/x86_64/cinelerra-cv-2.3.0-2.4.x86_64.rpm Where is it available for 42.3? ... This is a mayday moment.. -- David C. [opensuse] prime-select: unable to query GPU information

Hi, I just upgraded my asus laptop with intel/nvidia graphics from 42.1 to 42.3, all went well so far. But when entering prime-select nvidia I get: ERROR unable to query GPU information The script runs anyway, I guess, because when I reboot at some point the screen with the boot messages begins to flicker heavily (I could not read the last message...). I had to restart and boot to runlevel 3, then entered "prime-sectect intel" and now I can boot normally - but of course only using the intel card. I don't know which information you need to help me: please ask and I'll try to provide it. Thanks for your help! I'm at a break-point in my need for my Opensuse machine, such that I can tolerate some disruption. I was thinking I might try Leap 15 on it. I know Carlos recently posted that he had success with it. Is it ready for routine use with most things working? All, Going through grub config, I run across the following: SUSE_BTRFS_SNAPSHOT_BOOTING="true" Huh? I installed on ext4 only -- what's this doing in the config? I presume it will simply be ignored, but shouldn't this get commented when there is no btrfs installed? -- David C.
