[opensuse] computer doesn't turn off from vt8 - bug?

Hello: This is in openSUSE Leap 42.2 with KDM4 login manager and KDE3 desktop. First user logs in at vt7 and second user at vt8. Then first user logs out, second user stays logged in. When second user logs out and chooses turn off computer, the screen becomes blank but the computer stays on, doesn't turn off. Both vt7 and vt8 become blank, there is no login screen anymore. The computer only turns off when I switch to vt1 by pressing ctrl+alt+F1. Is this a bug? I would expect that the computer turns off when second user logs out and clicks turn off computer. [opensuse] systemd and /etc/fstab

on Leap 42.3: If I make a change to /etc/fstab so that, for example, I make an item be automounted by systemd, how can I get systemd to re-read this file without rebooting? [opensuse] stuck kernel package from 42.2 after dup to 42.3 that is needed by ipset-kmp-default

Right now as I am typing this bug onto the list here, I figure, that there is multiple ipset-kmp-default packages on the machine still. Originally I had a 42.2 system, and dup-ed it to 42.3 some while ago. After a while now, I also try to clean up unused kernel-packages, as opensuse saves or keeps two distinct versions on the system installed, maybe as a fallback. Thats when I found, that I couldnt rpm -e the one kernel-default..... package today, as the rpm replied that it was still in use by some ipset-kmp-default. I didnt force it to be removed or so, so far. Right now as I am writing, I decided to see what ipset packages were on the system just as a gut feeling, and apparently there is also multiple installed, probably some leftover due to mishaps during zypper dup from 42.2 to 42.3? [opensuse] Any ideas?

Hi When there is a large snapshot download, it does a long "checking file conflicts" before installing. I have an issue during that "checking" process, after a while my system starts bleeping randomly as if its in pain - does anyone know if i can do anything about it? [opensuse] Compiling firefox can be fun too

I am on opensuse 42.2 I was trying firefox nightly but the menu didn't work. So I decided to compile it, which I did, and the menu works. But to compile it I needed some clang/llvm packages from Tumbleweed, and gcc-7. So I added the repository with a lower priority than the others, then installed the packages. I thought these would all be developement packages, or things that I am not currently using, so it wouldn't matter. The first odd thing was that zypper ps -s showed some things that were using deleted files, like bash, and xdm. So now that I have compiled firefox I thought I should go and remove all the packages that came from Tumbleweed. But in Yast when I select to display packages from Tumbleweed it lists various things which are not actually installed from Tumbleweed. I can see from the zypper log the list. But I think what I want is a list of all the packages where the installed version is higher than the available version, which are shown in red in Yast. So, how do I get a list of packages in Yast which came from Tumbleweed and are a higher version than the installed so I can remove them easily? And if I remove them, will firefox stop working? If I don't remove them, is my system broken? [opensuse] How to switch off narration in kaffeine tv

I find the narration in kaffeine very irritating. It is set as default and thus I get narration on stuff that I record. Does anyone know how to change the default in kaffeine so that I can switch off the narration? I've found a config file, config.dvb in ~/.kde4/share/apps/kaffeine Does anyone what syntax I can use to turn off narration? Back in the days of KDE4 on 13.2 I had this: https://store.kde.org/p/1001951/ and found it useful. I'm now on leap 42.2 and KDE5 (etc yamma yamma etc, you know the rest) and it doesn't seem to upgraded/available. I realise there are a number of on-line random password generators, and I do have one on my cell phone, but I'd really like that widget or an equivalent.
