[opensuse] Touch screen on hybrid laptop doesnt rotate

Hello all, I am new with this hybrid laptop, I have got a HP Pavilion x360, model: 13u-108ms. In my first install, all was good, touchpad, screen, and now even my touchpad doesn't move the scrollable panels when I slide my finger in the lateral of the touchpad. I read about I need to compile a kernel changing options and installing xinput. xinput is installed, but I dont understand why I should to compile an own kernel if the first installed worked good. [opensuse] ssh / scp

I'm not too well versed on ssh. I already remotely access another PC for which I generated the key and uploaded it to the other machine. This is under my user account. I have my own account on each machine with the same username and user ID, but the other machine belongs to somebody else so has additional user accounts. What I want to know, hence, is this: If I want to copy files between machines using SCP, does that automatically use the same SSH key or is SCP a separate thing? and What about when I log in as another user on the remote machine - is this still secure or do I need to create a separate key for each user? [opensuse] Tbird help -- I can't read messages from Carlos - Everyone else is OK. Is it a signature issue?

All, (Wolfgang), I don't know what happened to my tbird, but for some reason unexplained, I can no longer view any e-mail sent by our dear Carlos E.R. in the tbird view pane. I can ctrl+u and view source and it's there, but it will not display otherwise. Further, the normal enigmail button bar that displays over a signed message never displays. I believe it is due to enigmail, but do not know how to fix it. [opensuse] KOBO and Leap - how to connect via wlan

Is there anybody that can point me to a howto or a blog describing this? Or has anybody does this with leap? I will have to set this up in a few days with a leap 42.3 based system that I will set up. What ports do I have to open? Any special things to do? On Leap the KOBO would be managed by Calibre. The system has a double NIC, the onboard one eth for internet and a pci-e wlan card to connect to hardware like KOBO. So I guess I will have to do some settings, but I do not know if it is better to set the cards up with wicked or nm. Any suggestions? [opensuse] Since when did opensuse start closing bugs "Upstream" and just hoping the reporter follows through??

All, I filed a bug yesterday on the libreoffice file chooser not remembering its last used size. (annoying, but not a showstopper). The bug was CLOSED UPSTREAM? LibreOffice file chooser dialog does not remember last used size https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1065398 That is bad practice. The bug should remain OPEN UPSTREAM and the maintainers should coordinate with upstream as has always been the policy in the past. Simply closing the bug and "hoping", "wishing", or "assuming" the reporter actually follows through and reports upstream is how issues fall through the cracks. I don't know when this policy changed, but it needs to be re-thought. I have noticed a recent rash of closures (some for confirmed bugs that had not been addressed since 2010). I have also had recent bugs reported that were upstream issues where the maintainers followed the time-honored tradition here and coordinated with upstream until a resolution was secured. So when did the policy change? What is it now? If the bug affects upstream is it just going to be CLOSED UPSTREAM and the reporter (who may be filing his first bug), left on his own? -- David C. [opensuse] Libreofficewriter problems printing embedded inage.

This may be a printer problem, but then again not. I took a screensnhot to png, but later converted to jpg with no better result. I tried embedding said image in a document. I've also tried converting the image to greyscale only. When I print, the image doesn't come out. I believe the printer and driver can print images for a number of reasons. I can print a page from a PDF document that has images on it. I admit the graphical parts don't come out as well as the text part of the image. I've also printed web pages such as recipes/yummily that have images and they come out. This is a brother HL-517DN and I seem to have a PDF style driver installed. That seems the new norm. However I've gone through all the possible settings that make sense (aka not the '2-up' or rotations) without much joy. I'm not sure this is a good thing, to be honest but that seems to be the new norm. Please, experience should trump theory. I know the theory. [opensuse] moving /home

Hello, My present install uses 3 partitions, / (30Gb, btrfs), /home (30 Gb, xfs)and /data, the last for large file storing (around 400Gb, xfs). no lvm.
