[opensuse] Autodisconnect of usb-disk-dock

Hi, In a thread about two months ago a USB disk-docking station was mentioned (Aukey Super Speed USB3.0 Dual Bay ...). I bought it, but I don't know what's happening with it. I wanted to use it as my backup-station for my NAS. I was testing it, but it was not reliable. So I tested it on my Opensuse 13.2 laptop. There it also has "problems". What happens is that after a while of not using it, the connection is dropped. I can't access it any more. I have to remove power and power it on again before I can use it. I was wondering if this is expected behaviour, or is the dock malfunctioning ? Any suggestions to investigate this further ? [opensuse] specific calendar program for linux

Hello: I'm looking for a calendar program for linux with a specific view area. it should look similar to the one in this image: http://i59.tinypic.com/3358g91.jpg Days should be in horizontal order only, and places, hours of days etc. vertically. Tasks or names could be assigned to specific places/hours during specific days. For example John Doe will be staying in New York from Aug. 18-22. Would be nice if I could export/save the data and open/import them on another machine. Is there something like this, open source or free, for linux? All calendars I looked at (screenshots) has days both horizontally and vertically. [opensuse] btrfs - no space left on device after deleting snapper

Hello: I thought I didn't need snapshots and I deleted all snapper packages. After this I get the no space left on device message when booting the system. Before I deleted snapper packages I removed all snapshots and checked the amount of free space. # btrfs filesystem show Label: none uuid: ............ Total devices 1 FS bytes used 16.97GB devid 1 size 20.00GB used 20.00GB path /dev/sd..... If I understand correctly this indicates I have ~3 GB free space on the 20 GB file system. Then I deleted snapper packages and now I get the no space message. Why is my file system full? How can I fix this? [opensuse] fetchmail from gmail problems

I suppose google is playing name games or round-robin with ssl certs but am just guessing based on inexperience. I began three or four days ago receiving "Query status=2 (SOCKET)" errors in fetchmail log for gmail. If I specify an ip address to poll rather than imap.gmail.com, I get "SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed". Adding nodns to poll imap.gmail.com, or with an ip address makes no difference. I even tried following google'd info to update Equifax certs to no avail. Switching to pop3 rather than imap is not different, same errors with same conditions. [opensuse] Is there a fstrim like tool that punches holes? Would it work with a NFS mount?

All, Due to an Admin screw up: (and yes I'm the admin). I have a large loopback mounted filesystem with about 100GB of unused space. I need to punch holes where the unused space is and free up some disk space. That is where fstrim calls ioctl(FITRIM) to free up space on a SSD I need something that calls fallocate(FALLOC_FL_PUNCH_HOLE) to free up space on an underlying filesystem If nothing already exists to do this I guess I could hack on fstrim and get it to do if for me. The next issue is my underlying filesystem is a NFS mount. Not sure if will handle fallocate(FALLOC_FL_PUNCH_HOLE). Worst case I guess I can grow the NFS mount, but I rent that space monthly, so I'd rather not have to grow it by 100GB to fix my issue. Hi list, I'm running a server that is still on 12.3 (update scheduled for autumn). There has been a security alert concerning bind (CVE-2015-5477), and now I wonder if I need to do something. Acording to heise.de (http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/Kritische-Luecke-in-DNS-Server-Softw…, in german) affected versions are 9, 9.1.0, 9.9.7-P1 Und 9.10.2-P2 12.3 (like 13.1) has 9.9.4P2, so I thought I'm safe, but today arrived an update for this exact version for 11.4 Evergreen. Are there others still running bind on 12.3? What are you doing? Last I heard, Google will cache only the maps needed for your pre-planned trip. If you deviate even a little, you're in Google Wilderness. MapFactor solves that; I can explore all I want. Hi We have updated a 12.3 install and plan to upgrade to 13.2 by changing the opensuse repos from 12.3 to 13.2 in yast and updating the distribution using zypper. Is that OK? [opensuse] thunderbird extra columns

38.1 We had a plugin to get extra columns for unread, total messages. Now it says it's integrated and the plugin can no longer be installed. It's not carried over the columns we had.
