[opensuse] firefox blocks google

Hello, since some days, most of the google links gives only a blank page in firefox. like this one http://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=CUUqC93vCVKCCOa6V0wW87o… I have to remove the google part (if possible) to access the web page. This may be related (or not) from the fact that I installed addblock and addblock plus. I noticed mdadm being installed with the minimal pattern on a newly installed system - as I have no mdraid on this machine, I wanted to remove mdadm: # zypper rm mdadm Loading repository data... [opensuse] filesystem space reservated for root user

Those I've used the most, EXT#, by default, reserve 5%. For the / filesystem I'm not bothered about its size. For those used for non-system functions, like big files like isos and videos and images, or /home, or backups, I wonder how much makes sense, particularly since that default was probably selected at a time when most filesystems were an infinitesimal fraction of the sizes they can be today. Are people sticking with the 5% default for everything they have using EXT4, or something more customized to usage? [opensuse] case sensitive search in dolphin

Hello, I sometime have to manage identical files from linux and windows, the only difference being the extension jpg versus JPG (case difference) -è I usually try to remove duplicates. Do you know any way to make this with Dolphin? Dolphin in my most used tool. I know how I can do this with Thunar, for example, but do not like to launch an other explorer just to do that. [opensuse] KDE4 dolphin pdf file preview

Hello: This is another KDE4 related question (openSUSE 13.2, KDE4 4.14.3). In KDE3 Konqueror shows nice, large thumbnail-like preview images with file information of certain file types when the mouse is hovered on the file name. Eg for a pdf file, see image: http://i59.tinypic.com/2qbcgsn.jpg I'd like to have the same previews in KDE dolphin, but it doesn't show them. In dolphin I activated previews for pdf files: Settings/Configure Dolphin/General/Previews PostScript, PDF and DVI Files option is checked on. If I turn on View/Preview in Dolphin, I get the following: http://i58.tinypic.com/25gcggg.jpg If I turned that mode off, I get the following: http://i61.tinypic.com/2ah73fb.jpg Neither is what I want. How can have the nice previews with file info in Dolphin, similar to Konqueror's preview? [opensuse] How to empty KDE4 start menu favorites?

Hello: This is in openSUSE 13.2 with its default KDE4 (4.14.3). Unfortunately KDE4 doesn't offer "most frequently used applications" in its start menu/application lancher/kickoff menu. Therefore I must use Favorites menu, delete default entries, and populate it with my favorites. I can't manage to delete the default entries. I read that right click context menu offers removing item from favorites; it doesn't for me; OK I used the classic menu style, I have to switch to Application Launcher style to have that option. I delete all entries. OK, favorites is empty. I switch back to classic menu style and the items are still there. I delete them again, but this time I log out, log in. The items are still/again in the Favorites menu - even in the Application Launcher style mode. How can I fix this one? https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Linuxrc I've tried many times over the years, but from among the myriad of options available, I have never figured out how to put the pieces together to install from an installation ISO file available via Samba or NFS. Many linuxrc options are possible, but like in most man pages, examples are scarce, and inadequate for me to grok. Most if not all attempts before today were followed by success in either installing via HTTP (slower, but most frequent choice), or via copying the iso to local HD (clumsy), or via burning iso and booting from OM (clumsy and wasteful of plastic). Maybe once long ago I mounted the iso on the server and exported its mount point. [opensuse] OT: character problems in mysql table

Hello I have a mysql table with names from all over the world. I usualy use latin1_german1_ci collation that goes fine also with characters from french (é, è...), spanish (ñ...), german (ä, ü...) but NOT with czech (ř...). After asking big brother g I changed the text fields to collation latin2-general_ci. Czech is now fine, but the spanish "ñ" does not work anymore... What do I have to do so that I can save characters of any language (I mean with our characters, not chinese etc.)? Thanks a lot for any hints!
