[opensuse] Xorg oddity.

I have a working and acceptable full-res X running, including all the eye candy like rotating box,, fading windows etc etc etc. but, but but ... The logs tell me things like <quote> [145070.025] (II) intel(0): Output VGA1 has no monitor section </quote> Well of course it doesn't! My monitor is a Flatron and I have the definition: <quote> Section "Monitor" Identifier "LG1" Vendorname "LG" Modelname "LG 1953 S" </quote> and of course that ties in with "Screen' definition etc. Oh, and it complains <quote> [145070.025] (II) intel(0): Output VIRTUAL1 has no monitor section </quote> Where did that come from? Are these hard wired into the intel driver or something? [opensuse] Setting e-mail alias in Evolution?

As far as I can tell, it isn't possible anymore. It's changed since the last time I've had to set my alias. Do you know how I can set my e-mail alias in the current Evolution? [opensuse] Screen display corruption/touchpad weirdness after recent bunch of updates (nVidia binary driver)

I was off for two weeks and after return got a bunch of updates, including GNOME, Firefox and new nVidia driver. Now I get rather nasty problems in at least two areas (after reboot) - screen updates sometimes look like rapid blinking of part of window; and do not really redraw screen until I try to scroll window. I get it e.g. on forums.opensuse.org site, or in Firefox status bar (which is shown in the bottom when page is loading) or in Firefox tab titles. - in Claws mail scrolling with touchpad sometimes gets "stuck" - it continues to scroll even when I raise finger. Moreover, sometimes it scrolls *both* message list and message body. It almost looks like events get dispatched incorrectly. Anything strange going on in center of germany? I noticed my rsync's against ftp5.gwdg.de are failing, but that happened before. However, scheduled maintenance or problems are normally mentioned on the UNI's main page, which is also unreachable. Even the initial page of the city-council is down, just like the Max Planck Institute for Experimental Medicine. Is there a black-out in that region? [opensuse] What is this catastrophe that is the new Bugzilla?

I wanted to file a bug report on the openSUSE Bugzilla. I've done a few before, and though the system was somewhat clunky and unintuitive, I could always navigate my way eventually to doing what was needed. Now I've logged in and tried to click the links to file a new bug, whereupon I get a heading and text at the top of the resulting page saying: Bugzilla – Select Classification Please select the classification. But then nowhere on the rest of the page do I see anything remotely related to selecting a classification. Looking for help, I clicked the link to the 'Bugzilla Upgrade Slidedeck' but decided I didn't want to wade through a 25-page PDF to learn how to file a two-minute bug report. The linked Help Page, and the Howto section about filing a report also bears no relevance to any options I get on the page when I try. I don't know if something isn't loading correctly or is missing from the page, or the new design is incredibly obtuse and mystifying. But consequently I cannot file my bug about a borked 13.2RC1 installation. Can't wait for the final release, it's going to be... unusable. Hi, I found the problem that was causing my right-click menus to disappear. I caused the problem myself by using the wrong repository. I was using kernels from the repository kernel:/HEAD/standard.
