[opensuse] How do i set FF (already def browser) to open links from TB (instead of conq)?

Hi, (It annoys me to find konqueror to start up to display a link, while FF is already def browser and started up.) (It also annoys me that the way to change this behaviour is not intuitive, it is worse: Nowhere to be found.) (In my opinion it should be enough to default an app to permit it to act on my behalve..) I was reading with interest the thread on the KDE 4.8.4 repo, and one of the things that stuck to me most was that I don't fully understand how the repository system works. So please, begging your pardons, can someone point me in the right direction on where to read about the repository system, so that I can follow this more intelligently? Here is what I think I understand, and please correct me if I am wrong. There are 2 upstream KDE repos - KDE Factory (KDF) and KDE Release (KDR). There was an update put on both KDR and KDF so that we could upgrade to KDE 4.8.4. However, there was something wrong, which caused a lot of crashes, mostly with kmail, akonadi, and nepomuk. As to understanding what exactly went wrong, here is where it gets fuzzy. I read people writing things like: "Someone needs to update kdelibs4 in KDE:Release:48. The fix is already in KDE:Distro:Factory, but not pushed to KR48. And then we have to wait." - so my question is, when a statement like this is posted, who actually updates kdelibs4? Is it only people on the KDE development team, or are there people out here in the community that contribute to that and put it together and then rebuild it? Here is another quote: "Still the question remains why somebody would set the repo to publish but not check whether it actually builds for four days and counting." - My question on this is, who sets up the repo? I do not mean this to point fingers, but rather just so that I understand who in general sets up the repositories. Can anyone do it? Or do only KDE development people do it? - And then also, about building (which I assume mean all the packages and libraries compile and function together), how is a repository checked to see whether it builds? Again, is this something that we as a community are supposed to do? or are there development people that take it upon themselves to do it? -- G.O. Hi to all, Someone have any experience with OpenSuSE 12.1 and HP Proliant BL460c G1 Installation? [opensuse] lost the 'Other' option on login screen

12.1 network client Hi Under either lxdm or lightdm, clicking on 'Other', to be able to enter your network username, does not work. On other clients it brings up a prompt for Username. We can login fine at the command line however. I've tried reinstalling both display managers but still no go. Any ideas where to start looking? I tried directly from openlibrary.org and was able to download the PDF with no issues using Chrome. Same with the ePub. Can you provide step-by-step how you got to the point you're seeing the problem you're seeing, along with which browser you're using? Hi All, I've just selected a text to read at archive.org and been confronted for the first time with "We show that you've borrowed this but haven't loaded it in Digital Editions yet. ... Do you need to try downloading Adobe Digital Editions again? The PDF or ePub loans will only open in that program." So, I followed the link to http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/ and the page that I landed on there said 'sorry, your system does not meet the minimum requirements' or some such. <grrrrrr> I opened the xml file, copied the document url and used wget to retrieve the .pdf -- was this a waste of time or is there a Linux solution for this? Are preparing for a functioning 12.2 beta1 and would like to transfer my KMail2 data and settings to 12.2. Had a look at the import function but lost my way. For KMail it mentions "Import KMail Maildirs and Folders structure" Where can I find the KMail2 from the 12.1? With the old KMail it was very easy but with the new KMail2 it is mainly guesswork. [opensuse] NFS Client freezes at large file transfers

Hi, my NFS client machines (opensuse 12.1) freeze if i try to copy large files to the NFS Server (opensuse 11.4). It seems that the /proc filesystem blocks somewhere and user processes freeze therefore. The files are ~10GB and bigger than RAM+swap (=8GB). It also works if i generate a 10GB file with dd on the nfs mounted filesystem. Can someone confirm? Or has a solution?
