[opensuse] Android print solution?

Guys, With the iphone we were able to configure good print function via CUPS/Avahi, is there anything similar that can be done with an Android tablet? Looking, it doesn't appear that there is any basic print capability provided by Android (3.2 Honeycomb). I would like to print to by openSuSE server in the same manner I do from iOS. Anybody found a good solution? I have found PrintBot, but that isn't a solution because it cannot be used legally where confidentiality is required. (data is transferred to a 3rd party server before printing). I need to find a direct print solution. What says the braintrust? -- David C. [opensuse] Printing with Canon IP1600 - cups thinks success, but nothing comes out

I am trying to get a Canon IP1600 to print in OpenSuse 12.1. There are ubuntu instructions on the web, that I am trying to adapt http://askubuntu.com/questions/41615/how-to-install-canon-pixma-ip1600 I downloaded the drivers, tracked down older libraries (gtk1), and installed the rpms. The ppd file needed minor corrections, to say resolution 600x600 instead of 600/600, but with that passed the cupstestppd. Yast print setup happily detects the printer, reads in the ppd file, and lets me choose the ip2200 driver (which according to the docs should support ip1600 as well) . But when I print a test page, nothing comes out of the printer. The cups error log is attached. It contains no errors - cups clearly thinks that all is well. I tried using the command it logs from the command line, with a ps file, but that just got a bunch of stuff printed on the console instead of going to the printer. What could be going wrong here? [opensuse] virtualbox in 11.4 with kde3

[opensuse] OpenSuSE 12.1: connect-debounce error

I am still testing my new machine. First I had problems with the fake raid of my AsrockZ68 Extreme4 Gen3: OpenSuSE 11.4 was not able to handle this in RAID1 mode. I switched to OpenSuSE 11.3 which worked. But I still wanted a new version of SuSE so I tried 12.1 a few days ago. There was a huge problem with Systemd and RAID mechanism which gave me the impression that this part is far too immature to be used. This view of mine is confirmed by the many problems of systemd that can be read on the internet. I switched back to SysV initialization instead of Systemd. SysV works now. But both initialization methods show an error: "<3>[ 4.722529] hub 1-1:1.0: connect-debounce failed, port 1 disabled" This was not shown when booting SuSE 11.3 so I wonder why SuSE 12.1 fills up the logfile with that message: "... [opensuse] SuSE 12.1: KMail 4.7.2 unusable

I just transferred my emails from my old kmail to the kmail 4.7.2 in OpenSuSE 12.1 via import. Afterwards akonadi_agent_l is really going "mad". When I tried to resort the approx 65k of SuSE mailinglist stuff it went "mad" second time (I had to kill kmail and akonadi_agent_l). Sometimes nepomukservices, akonadi_nepomuk, akonadiserver also jump in and the (quadcore !) machine uses nearly 90% of CPU for that crap! What are these programs doing (I was not able to find a manpage for this on my downloaded 12.1)? Can I make them completely silent or switch them off? [opensuse] Problem with acroread 9.4.7-3.7.1 and libpango

Hello, I tried to install acroread 9.4.7-3.7.1 on my OpenSuSE 12.1 64Bit and get the following error message: "nothing provides libpango-1.0.so.0 needed by acroread..." See here: http://www.imagebanana.com/view/qfa95ncy/acroreadlibpangoproblem.png libpango is installed but as libpango-1_0-0 Does the underscore make a problem here? [opensuse] firefox/thunderbird and root certificates

I'm trying to install a new root CA - I've placed it in /etc/ssl/certs, and done the rehash. Testing openssl s_client works, but firefox doesn't seem to recognise it.
