[opensuse] How to remove a widget?

Using oS 12.1 with KDE 4.8. Added a widget yesterday - this is simple enough - but how does one *remove* the thing (or any widget for that matter)?! :-) Thanks for any enlightenment on this vexed question :-) . [opensuse] File system is not clean

openSUSE 12.1 64 bit AMD processor; I have noticed the message 'File system is not clean' when I boot the system. Other than slowing down the boot process this doesn't seem to have another effect on the system. I couldn't find any reason via Google and am wondering if this condition is serious, or can I ignore it? Also, when the system is rebooted the widgets on the icon bar are rearranged, even thought they are locked. Is there a solution to this? Enlightenment will be much appreciated. [opensuse] google search result links again

Hello: Earlier I complained about google search result links giving mystic redirection links. (http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2011-12/msg00186.html) Someone then suggested turning off javascript and it worked. Today I tried to copy to the clipboard a google search link but again a redirection link was the result. I checked my browser (opera 10.61) settings for google site and javascript is turned off. Have google changed something recently? How could I get the normal link URLs? [opensuse] Stumped

I've been googling for hours and can't get this one figured out. I'm no purist. If there's a piece of software that works well and the way I want it I don't care if it's KDE or Gnome. I'm trying to get Dropbox installed. Following instruction on two or three different pages I thought I had everything downloaded and ready to install. There still seems to be some Nautilus dependencies that I just can't seem to resolve. I had the idea of adding the gnome repositories. Loads of links to openSUSE gnome repositories but not the standard repos that are in the regular Gnome installation. [opensuse] domUloader/kpartx issues

I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on this problem. The problem I'm having is with sles, not opensuse. I have a ticket open with Novell, my SAN vendor, and I've posted to xen mailing list. Any help is appreciated. I'm having a lot of problems with some pv domU's getting "Boot loader didn't return any data!" when trying to start them. Some will start fine on one server, but not on another with the same physical disk presented from a SAN. If I migrate the domU to the other server it will work, until it is shutdown. Then it won't restart. (Live Migrate works fine....This is only mentioned to show that the disk CAN be accessed and the domU CAN run on this server.) Here's some background. * Pooled servers are sles11sp1 with kernel 2.6.32.49-0.3-xen * xen version xen-4.0.2_21511_04-0.5.1 * multipath-tools-0.4.8-40.44.1 * VMs are sles11sp1 and some sles10 * Disks are provided by an Active/Active SAN * Servers are using multipath * Third party software (Convirture Enterprise) controls access to disk to prevent contention for the same disk * Live Migrate on functioning domU's works fine * If domU is then shut down, it will not start back up I can add the same disks to an hvm domU and boot off system-rescue CD and I can mount the ext3 file systems of the disks fine. . Then I can delete them. How can I determine why a physical device is locked or busy and who has control of it? I have done quite a bit of testing and it seems that every time a domU gets this error, it is also not accessible with kpartx. I guess that makes sense. See the chart below. Two vms: Server vm1 vm2 xen05 boot & kpartx fail boot & kpartx fail xen06 boot & kpartx fail boot & kpartx fail xen07 boot & kpartx fail boot & kpartx success xen08 boot & kpartx success boot & kpartx success xen09 boot & kpartx success boot & kpartx success I have another issue that is possibly even related where I can't boot ANY pv domU's that are trying to boot off a full snapshot of the disk. At this point I don't know if it's a locking issue or not. I really need to get the above problem resolved then move on to the snapshot issue. [opensuse] Luks and systemd

Before I mention my issue here is my setup : I have 2 installations one use to be 11.4 (now 12.1) and it's a regular installation of opensuse 64 bit (all are 64 bit) which is I suppose sort of my backup installation which I use when I mess things up in the main and need to fix it, my main installation is on an encrypted 2tb disk (full encryption serpent-xts-benbi entire / even /home is on it) /dev/sdb1 . and also my real /boot is on the backup /dev/sda1 now here is my problem , until recently it all worked fine the sda1 had 11.4/sysv init on it and I was running 12.1 and later factory on my sdb1 .now when I boot the boot messages pass and I even see a line asking me password for the sdb1 but it's followed by other messages and I can't input the password and it goes into waiting mode for the encrypted partition to somehow magically show up , and when I type the password it's displayed in plain text and it won't have any effect at all. I am thinking luks/cryptsetup isn't for some reason allowed to receive input from stdin. and it sounds like a systemd(or maybe luks) thing to me. now I am stuck using my backup installation , I normally use custom built kernels (which I know isn't supported) . serpent,xts and xfs(my file system for the encrypted /) are built into the kernel so it's not a module or kernel issue. [opensuse] KIWI: How to prevent installation of specific packages

Hello everyone, I am trying to build a Live System with KIWI. Unfortunately, I cannot use the resulting system, since logins via kdm fail with a ConsoleKit error. Tracking down that error seems to be difficult and time-consuming (the same error message leads to multiple rhb and bnc entries with diverse solutions), so before I invest in bug-hunting, I would like to try the easy way out: switch from systemd to sysvinit. However, that is easier said than done. The only option I have found to exclude packages is <packages type="delete">, but apparently, that does just what it says: the package is deleted after being installed, rather than excluded in the first place. This means I cannot build the image, since there is a conflict between sysvinit-init and systemd-sysvinit. Any ideas on how to avoid this conflict?
