If you press apply it creates ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde file. After logging out and in only this file is set up as GTK2_RC_FILES, and its values should be used for gtk settings. It would be good to know how GTK2_RC_FILES is set in KDE and other windows managers (GNOME, XFCE), and how could be ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde set to this variable only in KDE and not in other window managers. There is a script, /home/lxuser/.kde/env/gtk-qt-engine.rc.sh, which should set this variable: #!/bin/bash # Make sure our customised gtkrc file is loaded. export GTK2_RC_FILES=$HOME/.gtkrc-2.0-kde How this script is expected to work? [opensuse] GTK tool ?

Hello SuSE people. Still running 11.0 with KDE3.5 while I play with 11.3. I am not that good on the cli so I like using graphical displays. I am mainly speaking of grsync here which I run as root for backups. Problem is that the menu fonts are so small I can hardly read them. I am sight impaired. I have tried to have it run using the KDE fonts but it doesn't work. Years ago there was a tool that controlled the configuration but I don't remember now or cannot find it. Anybody can point me in the right direction so I can make them readable? [opensuse] Evolution Memory leak in 11.3

I recently did a clean install of OpenSuse 11.3 (64 bit) with KDE 4.4.4 "release 2" The evolution version is Evolution 2.30.1.2. I started Evolution by importing the archived "evolution-backup.tar.gz" file that I made from my 11.2 installation. When I start Evolution, it uses about 38mb ram. Within an hour it's up to 163mb, in 12 hours 338mb. If I leave it on for two days it gets to 500mb. I've not let it get larger than that so far, so I don't know if there's an upper limit on the "leak". When I shut it down and restart, the process just starts over. Has anyone else encountered a similar experience? Any suggestions on "plugging the leak?" [opensuse] Curious VsFTPd behavior with chroot dependency on server name (DNS config)

Hello I have noticed a really strange behavior of VsFTPd where chroot jail apparently succeeds or fails depending on the domain name type (in the DNS config). The full story: I have a machine running a FTP server using "ftp.example.com", but the same machine also hosts various other things like web services. The ftp-subdomain is an A record in the DNS. For mostly cosmetic reasons I've also created two CNAME records (to ftp), www and test. Thus you can actually FTP to "ftp.example.com", "www.example.com", "test.example.com", or directly to the IP address (of course). Thus, it is the same instance of VsFTPd that answers, no matter (that's correct). I've set up VsFTPd to chroot non-admin users to their home dir, this also works fine... kind of. Here's the curious part; when connecting to "ftp.example.com" (the A record), the user is NOT chrooted and can browse the whole file system. When connecting on any of the other (CNAME) names/IPs that the machine responds to, the same user IS chrooted, exactly the way I would expect. System: OpenSuse 11.3 (and probably at least 11.2), latest updates installed VsFTPd v2.2.2-2.4 uname -a: Linux myserver 2.6.34-12-xen #1 SMP 2010-06-29 02:39:08 +0200 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I'm mystified by this strange behavior, I've seen it before, but this time I decided to take a closer look. [opensuse] OpenOffice_org 3.2.1.4 from build service for oS 11.2

Hello: I have openSUSE 11.2 with KDE 3.5.10. I had official openSUSE OpenOffice_org package(s) 3.1.1.4 which I wanted to update to 3.2.1.4 version from the openSUSE build repository: http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.2/ The update went smooth except from one thing: OpenOffice_org-kde-3.2.1.4-1.1 insisted to install libkde4, libkdecore4 and a few other packages as dependencies, so I installed them. Now openoffice's open and save dialogs do not appear at all. I think the reason can be that I don't have any other KDE4 packages except from the abovementioned. At the same time there is another kde related package in that repo: OpenOffice_org-kde4-3.2.1.4-1.1. Why the OpenOffice_org-kde-3.2.1.4-1.1 package require then the installation of KDE4 libraries? And what is the purpose of the OpenOffice_org-kde4-3.2.1.4-1.1 package? Finally, how could I install this OpenOffice version to work with KDE 3.5?
