[opensuse] Create boot CD

I am running OS 11.3 and I want to create a boot CD so that if my boot partition is moved I can still boot from the boot CD and re-initialize grub again. [opensuse] firefox doesn't start

After upgrade to 11.3 firefox doesn't start. If I run from konsole firefox, nothing happens. ~: firefox ~: I can run firefox using firefox -safe-mode After that I can run firefox in normal mode. But after reboot the story repeats. I've tried to use a new profile and got the same result. [opensuse] filesystems no unmounted on OS 11.3

Hi well another one for 11.3 this one could get nasty . i run with reiserfs on / and xfs on /home i have run like this for a long time and see no reason to change as i will not use any of the ext* filesystems there is no point in even suggesting it when i reboot the system (hopefully very rarely once i get it stable) it unmounts /home no problem but seems not to unmount / as when i power the system backup up it takes an age to load grub then once i get the graphical screen hit escape key it is busy replaying the journel this means it had not been closed out cleanly . [opensuse] vuze on 11.3

[opensuse] Setting up apache2 virtual hosts on 11.3

Has anyone tried to use the Yast2 HTTP module to set up virtual hosts in apache2? (on openSUSE 11.3) I've been fighting with it for a while and gave up.... and opted for a manual config. What I did: - Install the Yast2 HTTP module + apache2 - Start the http module and define two name-based virtual hosts - Finish and restart apache2 Result.. the last defined host is the only host served up. I've tried over and over to get the Yast component to configure things correctly... and it's always ending up with the same broken result. I did a manual config entering the virtual host config into default-server.conf, removing the vhosts conf file Yast created, restarted apache2, and everything works perfectly. Open Yast using that manually edited default-server.conf and re-do the virtual host config... and I'm back to the last configured host being the only one served up. it seems like whatever Yast is writing, apache2 isn't reading correctly. Is there anyone here with experience setting up virtual hosts that managed to get the Yast2 http module to generate the right info? [opensuse] Open Source Flash Player That Actually Works?

I was wondering if someone could point me to an open source flash player that actually works on youtube? I'm using opensuse 11.3, kde with google chrome browser. I have tried gnash and swfdec so far with no luck. [opensuse] Update to 11.2 breaks WLAN/WIFI with ipw2100

Since updating my system to 11.2 WLAN is broken in that knetworkmanager lists all reachable access points but connecting is not possible, even if I switch my router (and connection settings) to unencrypted. Since knetworkmanager shows all access points and their signal strength I'm sure my WLAN hardware is not broken. Now I switched with yast2 to traditional (ifup) based network setup. This did not change anything: Still ethernet based connection works, but 'ifup eth1' (for WLAN) fails on getting an IP address: Starting DHCP4 client on eth1. . . . . . . eth1 DHCP4 continues in background It is still possible to list access points with "Netzwerk durchsuchen" on a page of the 'yast2 lan' configuration module. [opensuse] Login just cycles

I upgraded an 11.2 x64 with the online updates. this required a reboot. After rebooting I could no longer login, either as root or any user. No error it just cycles back to the login screen.
