[opensuse] slp service: ipv6 compatibility?

with the "slp" service, I was trying to limit it's interfaces to my private interfaces when I notice that it's not listening on any ipv6 addresses. Does slp not work with ipv6? [opensuse] SLES11SP1/D-Link DGE-530T Question

Anyone know if SLES11SP1 has working gigabit drivers for a D-Link DGE-530T? I installed a couple Via network cards and I'm not able to achieve gigabit speeds, even though I have a gigabit link. Even connecting them directly I can only get 10/100 speed. I tried compiling newer drivers for the Via cards but couldn't get them to compile. Looking at a couple D-Link DGE-530T cards on ebay would like to know they work before purchasing. Any help is appreciated. [opensuse] HDD mount question

I have a question people might be able to help me with. openSUSE 11.3 I have two USB 750 GB external HDD attached to a LINUX server. At the moment, I have mounted /dev/sdb1 as /data1 /dev/sdc1 as /data2 If I reboot, what are the chance the drives will line up again ? How does LINUX "know" which USB port corresponds to what external HDD. I had x2 SATA Internal HDD before, where there was no doubt about mounts. It is important because I want data1 to mirror to data2. Will I have to just plug in /dev/sdb1 first then mount, and then add /dev/sdc1 next just to keep the sequence ? [opensuse] Network Masquerading in SuSEfirewall 2

I'm trying to use SuSEfirewall 2 to pass incoming IMAP connections to the computer on my network that has an IMAP server running. However, I do not seem to be able to access it. The settings in the masquerade rule are: Source network 0/0 protocol tcp Req IP <actual internet address> Req port (imaps) 993 Redir to IP 172.16.1.10 Redir to port (imaps) 993 As far as I can tell, those are the correct settings, but I cannot even telnet to port 993 at the desired address. Get connection refused. Also, www.grc.com shows that port open, but nmap does not. Hello, i just have setup a new system with OpenSUSE 11.3. As usual for authenticating imap users, i used the standard method saslauthd in /etc/imapd.conf. This worked for 11.2. But in 11.3, only the sasldb is asked for users, regardless of the settings in imapd.conf. [opensuse] Kaffeine on 11.3 fails to produce audio

Well this does not bode at all well Kaffeine fails very miserably on the first hurdle try to view TV and i get a quick click of sound no video and a report of kaffeine xbu segmentation fault this is not good at all for what is supposed to be the best around in fact it sucks . where do i get a kaffeine that is going to work or do i have to can 11.3 and go back to 11.2 . [opensuse] btrfs snapshots and ability to recover directory inadvertently deleted.

I deleted my directory /root,inadvertently,no big consequences to the system (I run opensuse 11.3) functioning; however to experiment with btrfs snapshots I am trying to restore the system to the state previous to being deleted.There is few examples documented on the Internet and I do not know exactly how to do it.Is there anybody capable to say anything useful about that?
