[opensuse] KDE 4.1 Lag in desktop switching

It seems that I found culprit for slow desktop switching in KDE 4.1. Desktop Grid effect turned off and switching between desktops is fast as it has to be. On better graphic adapters this should be no problem, but mine is Geforce 6100 built in where program window start to slide than stop for a very short moment, and then finishes sliding. I logged in after number of updates today. Here is current version of kdebase4. [opensuse] Print Problem on SUSE 10.3

[opensuse] syncronizing a Blackberry device to an OpenSuSE machine

Hello everyone! Has anyone had a successful experience getting your Blackberry synchronized to a machine running OpenSuSE (we run V10.3)? If so, can you relay how you did it? I know some people have done it on Ubuntu but I just can't seem to be able to get it up and running on SuSE. Thanks. [opensuse] VERY slow network install

First thanks to whomever got the mini boot ISO to automatically load the repository without having to enter the URL... very nice. But has anyone notice the network install is painfully slow? I've tried on two systems using two internet connections (1mbps or faster) and even for a minimal text install (approx 600mb) it takes over 2hrs to complete the packages phase of the install? Many times I would look at the system and it would show the speeds in BYTES per second. The issue is not the network/internet connection. Hello listmates, My recent switch to openSUSE 11 has been met with several hurdles, but overall I have been relatively satisfied. However, after the updates of yesterday morning, my graphical login is completely gone. Kdm dies leaving the following in /var/log/messages: Received unknown or unexpected command -2 from greeter Abnormal termination of greeter for display :0, code 127, signal 0 In /var/log/kdm.log, I find the following line, which repeats over and over: (EE) I810(0): vm86() syscall generated signal 11. After this, I have decided to give up and go back to openSUSE 10.3, which has worked relatively flawlessly for me. It just seems to me that the openSUSE 11.0/KDE 4.1 combination is not mature enough yet to be unleashed on the general public. I am now back to running 10.3, and I am almost surprised to find how many things just work again. I can use kssh, roam networks with KNetworkmanager, I can use Kontact to open my Exchange mail, without getting all kinds of double email messages, connection time-outs, I can use my calendar functions with Exchange. Of course, I have to deal with slower package management, but I need my machine for work. As much as I like tinkering with my system, I found that with openSUSE 11, I was just losing too much time getting things working and not getting enough work done. I think I'll be back to try out openSUSE 11.1, but for now, I am sticking on 10.3. I feel a bit disappointed, because 11 worked great and felt very responsive in most areas, but especially desktopwise with KDE 4.1, too many things are rough around the edges. (Yes, I know I could have installed KDE 3.5 on openSUSE 11, but if I upgrade, I want to go all the way). Oh well, better luck next time. [opensuse] Recent update to kde3.5.9 on 11 x86_64 broke Javascript/Cookies in konqueror

Listmates, A much needed site stopped working in konqueror. The site says cookies and java-script are not working. This worked until up to about 10 days ago. Can anyone else get to http://www.westlaw.com with konqueror? Event trying the "text only" link listed on the site fails complaining about cookies. I've checked setting and they are OK.
