[opensuse] Tvcard and usbwebcam: an Impossible Marriage?

Dear Friends i have big trouble with my TV card and my usb webcam. I can not use two item together. TV pci card 00:0a.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7130 Video Broadcast Decoder (rev 01) webcam ID 093a:2468 Pixart Imaging, Inc. Cammaestro 2.5DU/X-EYE/Orite SC-120/ICGear TravelCam/Easy Snap Snake Eye WebCam this is the work done out until now my TV card (chip saa7134) is recognize automatically in suse 11 (but not in 10.3) and it do not need any manual configuration. [opensuse] Need help!

Guy, My main partion, crash. I am getting I/O errors, which I know means the drive is dead. What I need is to get on that partition so I can get my config off or any thing that I can. I have ran reiserfsck --fix-fixable, I get these error, cannot read teh bock 5672. reiserfsck is tell me I can use a -B flag to fix it but when I try to use that flag, I get the help menu. Please some know what I can do to get my data. When I open the GnuCash help: Help -> Tutorial en concepten gids I get the error Er is geen documentatie beschikbaar voor /usr/share/gnucash/gnome/help/gnucash/C/gnucash-guide.xml. [opensuse] 'mousetweaks' error message

I have a Logitech 2-button, scroll wheel, laser (optical) mouse. Model No. (if relevant) is M-BT68. openSUSE 11.0 (updated). Kernel 2.6.25. So as to be able to scroll a greater number of lines, I installed 'mousewteaks'. However, on running mousetweaks from the konsole, I get the error message : "Assistive Technologies not enabled. Mousetweaks requires assistive technologies." What do I need to do to enable 'Assistive Technologies'? They devices are being created. But what happens is the driver find the PMP, probes it, goes to the first port, tries to talk to the disk, finds it not ready, resets it (causing it to spin up), tries again, fails, tries again 5 secs later, finds it, tries the next port, same thing happens, resets the PMP, then probes the first port again, finds it ready, finds the 2nd port ready, then goes to the next port, resets it, etc... This can take quite awhile. It appears that the last PMP doesn't get probed and udev events triggered until some time after udevs from the 2nd and a1st PMP's are already created. So boot.md is already going, and after it more devices are being created. Sounds like if I change the mdadm device timeout to 2 mins or so, that may fix it... I'll try it and report back. If you want, I can post a dump of the tsratup log showing this behavior. As for starting the disks all at once, I don't think the liata architecture is set up to do that, and I think you really don't want it to. Starting up 20 disks at the same time will put quite a load on the +12V line of the PSU. Once the disk identifies itself on the bus, a udev event causes the device node to get created. Does it get created? What exactly is the error message when boot.lvm fails to assemble the logical volumes? boot.md will wait 60 seconds for all udev events to get processed. Would it help to increase that (in /etc/sysconfig/mdadm, the value is MDADM_DEVICE_TIMEOUT)? Hi. I have a Opensuse 11.0 system running as a server with about 18 data disks hooked to the local motherboard SATA ports, and 3 SATA port multipliers hooked to a Adaptec 1430SA controller. Because of how the PMP code works and how long it takes to spin up each disk, it can take awhile before the disks are all spun up and online. About half the time I boot the system, OpenSUSE thinks the disks are already up and proceeds to run the /etc/init.d/boot.md and boot.lvm files, which of course fail to assemble the disks because they haven't fully come online yet, and dumps me into a single-user mode shell to fix the disks. The bottom line is about half the time I try to boot the system, it fails and needs some console work before I can bring it up. Does anyone know if there is a fixed time delay somewhere that waits for the disks to spin up or does it use a different way of telling if it's done? Hi all, I have just recently activated update 3rd party in OpenSUSE updater. After that it searched for updates and found 32 updates. When I click install to install updated, it takes a while and then the gauge stops with the text "searching for new updates..." or something like that. I also tested and clicked on "detail" button before installing updated but install software window opens and no update is visible to choose. Have anyone faced such problem? [opensuse] 64-bit multimedia messed up.....AGAIN!

For most of the week, updating any multimedia apps. has been a "no go" if you're using 64-bit 11.0, and after all, it SHOULD all just work...right?!! Or, if you're doing a new install with KDE 4.1 or 3.5.9 and, naturally, the client wants full multimedia, you have to tell him/her, "Sorry, but the repositories have files with screwed up dependencies and I can't install them! Once again, there are problems with libxine1 and Amarok....maybe some others. 'Hope someone will get these fixed ASAP.
