I don't recall whether Novell required me to register my 10.0 product when I installed it, but, just the same, for any parties/companies who have allowed Novell to include their proprietary software as part of the SuSE boxed set, they would, in essence, be losing revenue when a single set of DVD's is passed around among friends (assuming they're getting a buck or two off of each boxed set sold). Then again, maybe I misunderstood those earlier posts regarding the proprietary products on the boxed set DVD's vs the downloads only having non-proprietary software. Greg Wallace

Templates in Kontact

Is there a way to create templates for Kontact letters? I have done this in Thunderbird in Windows, but have found no way to do this in Kontact. I like Kontact, but templates are essential to my correspondence, and I know I can make them in Thunderbird. Thanks in advance. Avraham Hanadari

Powersave warning.

On two of my SUSE 10 systems (both Compaqs), I get an error message about powersaved not running, when I log on. However, "rcpowersaved status" shows it is running. Is there any way to stop this message? tnx jk

How to make shortcuts?

I seem to have installed Thunderbird, but I can't get a shortcut icon to appear in the K Menu. I installed the RPM for Nvu, and an icon was placed in the Menu. The file for Thunderbird was a tar.gz. I expanded the gz and clicked on the she file to install. It didn't seem like anything happened, but when I click on a file called just Thunderbird (not the traditional icon) the program opens, and I'm writing in it now. Is the program actually installed? Where should it be physically. How can I instruct SuSE to make a shortcut icon where I want it? Thanks in advance. Avraham

Could not mount device. floppy problem?

Have not used the floppy drive since quiet some time. As I wanted to mount the floppy I got the following info; Could not mount device. The reported error was: mount: only root can mount /dev/fd0 on /media/floppy Tried as as root and got the information; :/home/cons # mount /media/floppy mount: unknown filesystem type 'subfs' My fstab has following info about the floppy; /dev/fd0 /media/floppy subfs noauto,fs=floppyfss,procuid,nodev,nosuid,sync 0 0 Have in the meantime also tried to mount the floppy as vfat because I use them mostly as DrDOS media. No success either. Could somebody help me with this medium? Additional info; I am running 9.3 on a Pentium II with KDE 3.5.

As being discussed on the list, the whole Reply to thing, You have to click reply to all, then delete the user, to reply to the list (webmail restrictions, stupid, yes!). And if you look at the time, I was falling asleep at the keyboard. I am sorry for that. Ego, no, It doesn't temp you with ease of use. And it does allow me to TRY another distro, just like Linux, it's about CHOICE. I never understand WHY people seem to have a problem with that.
