KDE 3.51 for SUSE 10.0 -- why packages so volatile?

Dear developers, With the KDE 3.51 packages, I see build number 18 at suse.com, build 12 at gwdg.de and build 6 or 8 at oregonstate.edu. Why are KDE 3.51 packages so volatile and when can we get stable packages for download? I remember I got ready stable packages for SUSE *immediately* along with the KDE announcement even till KDE 3.50. Noob question about file icons on the desktop

I was wondering in windows when you change an icon for a file on the desktop it applies only to that specific file. When I change it in Linux it applies by file type which is a pain. I put a link to a shell script on the desktop and try to give it a unique icon and next thing I know all the shell scripts in the file system have the new icon. Any help is greatly appreciated. VMWARE and 10.1 Beta 3

Hey, I am wondering if there is a trick to install 10.1 beta to vmware? I have tried a couple times and grubs keeps giving me an error of 18. First I used the virtual drive setting and the second time I set up a drive 6gigs fixed spaces. It seem to happen after the first disc getting done with insall and reboots to bring up the system the first time. Any help would be great. Payne

It should be the same for both wifi and wired ethernet. And yes - you run the windows driver within the wrapper. I haven't done it myself, but there are plenty who have. Hello again, Since I can't get 10.1 Beta 3 to install under VMWare. Has someone created a vmware player image. I want to check out 10.1 before release my current version of 10.0, I made the mistake last time to use RC1 for my main box. Thanks.... Payne

cd not mount

I just update from 10 via apt. The problem now is i cannot mount cdroms. I haven't /dev/hdb or /dev/cdrom or /dev/dvdrecorder, nothing. Any ideas? -- Patricio Bruna V. When they write back and tell you they don't support Linux ask them when they will.
