SATA drive bay and hot swapping

Hi all, I would like to set up a backup system using an internal drive bay with SATA (Vantec EZ-Swap) on an Intel D945GTP motherboard (BIOS set to AHCI) using a Western Digital 250GB WD2500JS Hard Drive on SuSE 10.1 with updated kernel version 2.6.16.21-0.25-smp. The problem is how do I configure autofs, udev or whatever to automatically dismount the hard drive when it is pulled out of the drive bay and then automatically mount it when it is inserted again. I have Googled for this for ever but don't seem to be able to find anything on it that makes any sense. I would really appreciate any help in this regard. Question about camstream...

Hi gang, Is anyone else using camstream snapshot 060801? If so, are all the sliders in the 'video settings' window working? Reason I ask is, The last 3 snapshots my 'gamma' slider would work when I first started camstream (after freshly installing it), but anytime I started camstream after that first time, the gamma slider would be grayed out and I couldn't adjust it. [opensuse] redistributing opensuse openoffice package

Hi, I have a doubt about whether is legal to redistribute the opensuse openoffice packages, as it has opensuse logos on it. Can it be redistributed wihtout modifications? cups printing for windows?

All, I have a single Windows workstation left which I'd like to be able to also use our CUPS printing setup. The various howtos etc. undoubtedly describe this perfectly well, but it just seems way too complicated - is there really no straight forward, simple/quick/easy way of having this one left over Windows workstation use our CUPS printers? /Per Jessen, Zürich

How good is your flash plugin? (Audio not in sync w/Video)

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the flash plugin. I'm currently using flash-player 7.0.63.0 with Firefox on SUSE 10.0. I just really want to know if it's something on my side or if that's the way things are with flash version 7 for Linux... I'm having a slight playback problem watching flash videos. The first seconds are OK but eventually the audio lags behind the video (or vice versa). This is an example from a video on youtube where it is easy for me to notice it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JP7NvDN0wuo I really notice the difference when the kid plays the 16 beat groove (in about 1:08). This is a P4 3.0 Ghz. so I don't think I'm having a hardware issue here. Also, I played this same video (on same machine) with Windows XP and Flash version 9 and audio & video on it were perfectly synced. Please provide your comments. Thanksl Jorge

Samba-Windows communication issue

I have a couple of machines running Windows (with Linux on dual boot, of course). A third machine is running Linux with Samba and exporting several directories via Samba. On one of the machines, when I start up Windows, My Computer shows the exported drives as "Network Drive". But on the other one, exported drives show up as "Disconnected Network Drive". Each Windows machine, however, can see the other's exported folders without difficulty. So there seems to be some Windows setting that enables Windows to see Samba drives right away, and on one machine it's set and on the other it isn't. A likely villain would be "Reconnect on logon", but that's checked on both machines. I can get the disconnected drives connected by clicking on them in My Computer. Any guesses? Paul
