[opensuse] qmail + dyndns + router bridge mode + Help help help ?

Hi I am having 2 eth cards in the same machine eth0:local lan eth1:router connected router is having static ip both the cards are settled in bridged mode rfc along with firewall on eth1 and NAT with eth0 . Now i have qmail server configured well with eth0:192.168.0.1 along with local hostname "xyz.domain.com " internelly it works great but i want my internel eth0 users able to send the mail to gmail etc and gmail users can send them for that i registered a domain name with free dyndns service and i got "abc.homelinux.com" pointing to my static ip .. but i want help like how i can tell my mail server to use that "abc.homelinux.com" coz its configured with "xyz.domain.com" plz help me ...I need to save lot of by hosting mail server internelly with each users 1gb mail account .Its woking fine internely but now from gmail to internel user(a)xyz.domian.com Any how i got succeed in sending mails to gmail users but cant receive.. SCSI tape drive

SuSE 10.0 I've added an adaptec SCSI card and Wangdat 3400 tapedrive from an old system into my SuSE server. As yet, the tape drive does not appear in YaST and I don't seem to be able to find it in /dev/scsi (just tells me about directories . and ..) Running /etc/rc.d/boot.scsidev doesn't find it either. Any thoughts, please? When I've found it, I guess I'll have to mount it (fstab) before I can use it for backups. TIA John

Hi all hackers ! Yesterday I googled for "Comparison of Firewalls" and found nothing. I was very upset about it, so decided to create one article, and put in Wikipedia. But since, I am only 1 man, I don't know everything about firewalls. The article's target is to compare features of all Firewalls, both Home and Enterprise must be put to test. I would like productive discussion about it, what you like and what dislike, and please add data about some firewalls you know... like ZoneAlarm, BlackIce, whatever you know... Hi i am using downloaded version of Suse Linux Enterprise (sles-x86 . 10) its a 60 days evaluation .i would like to know , 1. [opensuse] Can't connect to WLAN with 152bit WEP key

I've setup a WLAN with D-Link AP and 152bit WEP key (I need WDS, so WPA is not an option), and now I can't connect with it using my Suse 10.1 box. Although, if I reduce the encription strenght to 128bit it works fine. Who's failing here? Reiserfs, recover parts of a truncated file?

I have an .avi file, output by a digital camera, that has become truncated, not sure how, perhaps during a temporary filling up of the file system. I have used the excellent, free PhotoRec software (http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec) to recover such things sometimes, but this doesn't work on Reiserfs. Any ideas that might lead to the reassembly of all (or at least of some more) of the file? PHP5 not running

SuSE 10.0 hosting apache2-2.0.54-10 and php5-5.0.4-9, both installed via YaST. Pointing a Firefox browser at a page on the above server yields a dialog asking what firefox should do with this, open with... or save file to... (IE just loads about:blank!) I've searched the archives and have checked all the usual features: mime.type includes: application/x-httpd-php phtml pht php php3 php4 php5 httpd.conf includes: DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.html.var One thing which is common among several archives is that a re installation wipes away the problem. I've tried that both with php and apache to no avail. (It did work when I had this problem earlier on php4) My first suspicion is that the SuSE 10 builds of Apache and php5 are not compatible but I am not sufficiently versed in Linux to be confident in messing with the YaST installed applications. Clearly, if I try the test page <?php phpinfo(); ?>, that gives the same error and gets me nowhere. How can I check, at the server, which is command-line based, that php5 is running and accepting scripts? Do I need to 'start' php5? Have any of you experience of this problem and any suggestions on how to resolve this and get a web site up and running with php5? TIA John

How do you manage additional modules for your Perl installation?

Hello, I have several developer systems, where Perl is used heavily. The Perl modules that are delivered with SUSE or are available at the usual package repositories are not sufficient, more are needed. I would like to install additional packages that originate from CPAN and have the following features: -- to be able to query the system for installed packages and their version number. (This is not identical to query for a Perl module and its version number.) Something like rpm -q. -- to search for existing uninstalled packages. -- keep the Perl installations on all systems synchronized -- if possible, do not destroy the rpm -V verification for installed SUSE packages. Maybe there is a RPM repository of Perl packages that is as substantial as ActiveState's repository? The problem is that the amount of Perl RPM packages that I found out there is rather restricted, not even Email::* is there. (Functronics has a few, but that is still restricted.) As long as there is no such repository, I have the following two possibilities, AFAICS: -- Use CPAN.pm to install new packages and rsync to synchronize the changes to /usr/lib/perl5 at all systems. -- But what do I do about changes in /usr/bin? -- And, how do I query for installed packages and bundles? -- CPAN::WAIT is supposed to support searching -- does that work? -- Leave SUSE perl as it is and install a completely different Perl system (e.g., from ActiveState) in /opt or /usr/local. There I would have ppm, ActiveState's Perl Package Manager. Synchronization So, how do you handle Perl module updates? Do you just install it systemwide and don't care about knowing what is installed? Or is there any possibility that I missed?
