How good is your flash plugin? (Audio not in sync w/Video)
Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the flash plugin. I'm currently using flash-player 7.0.63.0 with Firefox on SUSE 10.0. I just really want to know if it's something on my side or if that's the way things are with flash version 7 for Linux... I'm having a slight playback problem watching flash videos. The first seconds are OK but eventually the audio lags behind the video (or vice versa). This is an example from a video on youtube where it is easy for me to notice it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JP7NvDN0wuo I really notice the difference when the kid plays the 16 beat groove (in about 1:08). This is a P4 3.0 Ghz. so I don't think I'm having a hardware issue here. Also, I played this same video (on same machine) with Windows XP and Flash version 9 and audio & video on it were perfectly synced. Please provide your comments. Thanksl Jorge

On my box i normally need to use Konqueror for Flash sites, as Firefox hangs, crashes, or just plain doesn't work on particular sites (e.g., www.pandora.com). That said, using pandora.com as an example: konqueror will hog up to 85% of my CPU (1.2GHz) while playing music from that site using Flash. -- ----- stephan@s11n.net http://s11n.net "...pleasure is a grace and is not obedient to the commands of the will." -- Alan W. I cheat and look at the site source and construct a url to download with wget then play with mozilla whatever.swf in konsole. Works great in 9.2 when sound does not work. -- ___ _ _ _ ____ _ _ _ | | | | [__ | | | |___ |_|_| ___] | \/
