Could that be an issue here? No problem mounting using this port on the nfs server by a similar nfs client. Hello, I installed NLD on a laptop without a NIC and now I have a NIC for it. Powertweak and powersave puzzles

I'm running SuSE 9.1. When KDE starts up I get a message "The powersave daemon is not running or you are not a member of the powersave group. Run the program /usr/sbin/rcpowersave start." Annoyingly, the message disappears from the screen after a few seconds, making it hard to transcribe it correctly. In any event, /usr/sbin/rcpowersave doesn' exist, but /usr/sbin/rcpowersaved does exist and it's running. So what is this all about, and what should I do about it to make the warning go away? A possibly related problem is that Yast/System has a Powertweak module. When I start it, I get the message "The module requires the package powertweak. Install it?" But when I attempt to install it, I get the message "Package installation failed", and I'm unable to locate the package through the software installation module of Yast either. Again, what's going on here? There's also a daemon running called kpowersave, but I can't locate any documentation on it. And a final related question: how should I set the power controls in my BIOS so the Linux powersave modules can do the right thing? Paul

ASUS A7V880 board

Hi guys, After shopping around for quite a while for a DDR board for my 2400+ AthlonXP, and finding out that the model I wanted (GA-7VT880 Pro) is no longer available locally, I ordered the ASUS A7V880 board, simply because it's the only one that was still in stock and available at a reasonable price. I have looked on the web for info on how this baby runs. Most of it seems ok, but all the reviews I saw are old. Just wondering if anything usefull got sorted out in the meantime. According to: http://www.linux-tested.com/results/asus_a7v880.html only the sound doesn't work, which is OK, seeing as I have a good soundcard. Can anybody share their experiences with this board. Postfix: undisclosed recipients

The sendmail or postfix under Suse 9.2 has a strange default To: field with undisclosed recipients. All outgoing mails bear this in the recipient field. How to disable this? Thanks.

Tape drive isn´t recognized!

I am trying to install a tape drive but the system dont recognize in /dev/st0 when I installed it before on another computer with kde is was so simple. What can i do to make it works in text mode? Joni
