xawtv launcher window

In the options window that pops up when right-clicking xawtv, I noticed one of the choices is "Launcher window." When I click that, nothing happens. I found a few mentions of the xawtv launcher window on Google, but nothing that explained what it is. The man page does not say either. Does anyone know? Thank you. Check out 'tee-for-two' for another solution using tee without learning more about the sound subsystems. The card handles the mixing by itself so I don't understand why can't I have two process capturing audio at the same time. I found a way to solve the problem using pipes from a Debian website. I hope it is the solution he is looking for. If he cats the output of /dev/dsp and tee off as many outputs as he desires, then he can successfully avoid the exclusivity lock on the /dev/dsp. I have a hardware as well as a software background, so like Linux, there is alway two or more ways to solve the problem. I only recommend the 2nd soundcard because a 20 or 30 dollar soundcard can do a lot more than software bound piping and semaphores which are prone to zombieism or other software glitches. If so, and the programs truely are back-to-back, a simple script to check if sox is already running and loop until it quits would do it. AMD64_Mobo_Recommendation

SuSE Technologists, I seek a recommendation for a mobo to suit an AMD64 3500 (venice core). I build a number of high end workstations and servers for clients. Finally I decided to make the jump and build a 64 bit wkstn for my business platform. My key wkstn is a dual AMD 2600 based on a Tyan S2466 this machine runs faultlessy and has done now for three years. The mobo (amd64) I purchased is totally useless, with a string of problems listed on the net that would surely form a list several kilometres long. I finally got th CPU tested and it is ok. I run SLES on my servers and SuSE 9.3 on wkstns. I wait for patiently for the final of SuSE 10, the RC1 I have is very good and runs very fast on my dual AMD wkstn. detecting HD's location for grub

I added the following to my menu.lst: title Install SUSE 10.1 Alpha 1 root (hd3,2) kernel /opensuse/DVD_10.1_A1/boot/loader/linux initrd /opensuse/DVD_10.1_A1/boot/loader/initrd What I want to know what program I must use to know what the correct root is. With me linux (for 10.1A1) is : /media/data/opensuse/DVD_10.1_A1/boot/loader/linux Also: /dev/hdf3 is /media/data Because hdf is the third HD, it is 3 and because hdf3 is the second partition, that is 2, so it makes hd3,2. What command must I use to know this? SuSE's flash rpm handles it properly, and mozilla has an add-plugins.sh that finds it -- unless you redirected your plugin to some obscure place on /var. Check /usr/lib/browser-plugins and put all your plugins there, or make links there to the plugins. Then tell your browser about it. Maybe you have to do some work of your own until everyone knows that is where plugins should go, and where a browser should look for them. Blackened GTK menus?!

http://www.whack.org/~ben/blackened.jpg Have any of you experienced this with GTK applications? It happens with all but Firefox. I have absolutely no clue how to fix this. None of my KDE applications do this. I've gone so far as to backup my needed files and remove my whole home directory to see if something was corrupt. I've made sure everything is good in Sax2 as well. It's only happened since the update before last of the Gnome progs and libs. It's REALLY annoying.
