Can anyone tell me what this new driver brings except the completely new network capable installation procedure? I can't find any decent changelog with some info... Are some of the known issues in 4191 solved? GLIBC 2.2.4 not found

I am running SuSE Linux 7.2, KDE 3.1 and glibc 2.2.2. I need help with a glibc configuration problem. The problem started a few weeks ago, when I upgraded some libraries (QT3) in order to get some new programs to compile. It worked and a few days later I downloaded the upgraded glibc 2.2.2 rpm's from SuSE through YAST and since then I got dynamic linker problems. If I want to link or for example if I try to install OpenOffice 1.0.2, I get the message: lib/libc.so.6: version GLIBC_2.2.4 not found and it fails. The system thinks, I've got glibc 2.2.4 installed, but I don't. I tested my glibc 2.2.2 installation in all the possible ways I found. It looks OK. Does anybody know how to clean this up? Every hint is very much appreciated. Urs

Problem with MPlayer

I posted it to MPlayer list, but no reply....so here it goes...and o yes....I have RTFM'd. I have a vob that I have extracted from a DVD. when I run mplayer like follows: mplayer ROMEO_MUST_DIE20-1.vob -ss 20 I notice that mplayer does not start at 20 seconds into the vob. I start with the above command and immediately pause the player. I see the following tarting playback... A: 34.3 V: 34.3 A-V: 0.058 ct: 0.160 20/ 20 17% 10% 1.1% 0 0 0% Notice that mplayer starts at 34.3 secs instead of 20 secs. What I am doing wrong? How can I start mplayer at 34.3, which is hte # that is displayed when I am playing my vob? Salman

What do SuSE put in the /etc/ld.so.conf?

Could someone with a clean install of the recent KDE 3.1.2 on SuSE 8.1 take a look at /etc/ld.so.conf and let me know what they put int there, if anything. STH
