Ghost like program for SuSE?

My SuSE 9.0 64bit just arrived in the mail and I'm excited about installing it, but figured a full backup of my drive is in order. Are there any applications like Ghost for SuSE? Would I be able to use the SuSE 9.0 eval CD to image my hard drive to an external source, like a second hard drive in a USB or Firewire device? I'm not sure if I'm ready to start trying to use "dd" on a production machine, there are too many things that could go horribly wrong. ;) Thanks for the advice!

Usb Mouse Lag on Notebook Standard USB port (Suse9)

I have a Toshiba Libretto L1. USB mouse in standard port worked with 8.2 with no problems. Installed 9.0. Mouse pointer is now lagging behind movements by half a second to a second i.e. unusable. Put a USB 2.0 card in the PCMCIA slot and plugged the mouse into that. The mouse works with no problems. I need the PCMCIA slot for other things so does anybody have any ideas on solving strange behaviour? Thanks, Pieter Bruinsma Budapest

Quotas exceeded

Greetings: Please forgive if this is a duplicate. I'm using SuSE 8.2 ; quota-3.08-27 (with quota_v2 enabled at boot) User hard limit = xxxMB on /home At some point quotas must have been off as quite a few are over quota. After removing stuff they bring use-age down to a lot less than hard limit. Turn quota off, run quotacheck, turn back on, then do repquota. Users's blocks used same as before. And they can't save a darn thing!! The only way is to increase the hard limit. At this rate they gonna squeeze me off the road :( (Users are on windoze, but that has no bearing, right?) I've googled, browsed, manned, doc'd, reinstalled (just quota, of course). Nothing. I really would appreciate some assistance. KDE screensaver will not authenticate password

For some reason, the kde screensaver will not accept my login password to unlock the screensaver. fetchmail, procmail etc

Hi, SuSE 8.2 I have fetchmail delivering to /var/spool/mail/username, invoking bogofilter as it goes ( thus adding X-bogosity headers to mail ). My mailer software ( mew under emacs ) should then be able ( via a utility called incm [part of the mew package] ) to transfer mail to ~/Mail/inbox. This is not working. Does anyone have any suggestions? Many, many TIA Francesco

samba.tar.gz issue

Hi all, I have recently downloaded the latest samba.tar.gz from their site. I wanted to see what happens in the case when you do not use the rpm's that are usually submited with the distro.... So far I have comiled it and everything works on. Smbd and nmbd load from my command and all works well. My question is , what happens if I want to have smbd and nmb load by default on startup of my machine? How do I do that? In my SuSE7.2 I just set SMB_START=yes in my rc.config. Now that I have upgraded, how do I instruct the machine to load smbd and nmbd on startup? Thanks all in advance for your help!!! Chris

Mirroring suse i386
