Installing mondo

Hello all, I'm in the middle of installing mondo but it refuses to compile and doesn't say why. I remember MAC users saying the same thing about the PC years ago. I'd buy a MAC too if I could afford it. :) I'd use windows if it suited my needs more. Ganglia and SuSE

Ganglia (Distributed Monitoring and Execution System, for clusters) seems to have an rpm for RedHat, but not specifically for SuSE. In particular, the rpm (and the source, as well) rely on a function /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions, which exists in RH but not in SuSE (at least, I'm not sure where it would get installed). I installed the default distribution of SuSE 8.2, with full network, and Dev. Apps, so it obviously doesn't exist in a reasonably "standard" install. Does anyone know which package /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions exists in? Or, more 'broadly', if Ganglia has a SuSE specific rpm / distribution? Thanks! Robert Amodeo UCLA /.r.\

I set the POP3 in my firewall as an available service but i still cannot receive any messages. Why that? Does anyone know when the software list for 9.0 will be made available? Digital Camera Revue DC 310 for SuSE Linux 8.2

Dear my friends.... My wife bought a digital camera, it is REVUE DC310. I tried to make my gtkam and DigiKam of my SuSE box communicating to this digital kamera. But it is always failed. I tried to configure my Digikam (ver 0.51) with : configure-->Setup-->Camera Setting but I didn't find the proper one for this REVUE DC310. Is there any alternative device driver for this Digital Camera so it I can take the pictures from this Camera? Do you have any solution? Please.... __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I use the pine, i think that SMTP is the correct protocol. povray*.png -> povray-anim.mpeg?

I've been trying to find a way to turn the output of my povray animation run into an mpeg. When I use imagemagick with the mpeg2encode I get numerous vbv_delay overflow and vbv_delay underflow messages. The quality of the animation when viewed in kmplayer is also not very good. Is there a better way to go about this? Thanks, STH

MicroSuck?

Ok, I'll admit I haven't been keeping up on a lot of stuff lately, but does anyone know why any web page I am on with Konqueror which has the word Microsoft in it, Microsoft gets transposed to MicroSuck? It's only with Konqueror; neither Mozilla nor Netscape 7.1 does it. It's pretty funny, once I figured it out. I mean, I was on the ZDNet web page doing research for a school assignment, and kept thinking, "Man, these guys are ballsy calling Microsoft MicroSuck!" XConfig in different distributions

Hi all, and sorry if this is too basic a question, but I am really struggling (my eyes hurt!!) Can I take a old XF86Config-4 for my machine (Mandrake's and working pefectly) and put it as the XF86Config-4 for my Suse 8.2 pro? Actually I would only need to substitute the monitor part.
