Dear Sir, When I pass the command mailstats, I see like the following: # mailstats Statistics from Fri Sep 27 10:58:54 2002 M msgsfr bytes_from msgsto bytes_to msgsrej msgsdis Mailer 4 6 31K 0 0K 0 0 smtp 5 0 0K 4 15K 0 0 esmtp ============================================================= T 6 31K 4 15K 0 0 C 6 4 0 msgsfr is the message received field, bytes_from is the size received field, msgsto is the message sent field, bytes_to is the sent size field. screwed up sizing of filesystem...

Hello All Ive been away from Linux for about a year but I made it back and purchaced and installed SUSE 80 professional. Its a very very nice looking system. My problem is that I seemed to have screwed up the sizing of partitions. I have lots of free space but somehow managed to make / too small (go figgure) ;-) I dont know what I was thinking... is there anyway I can fix this (reclaim space from another partition)?? I have nothing on /work If I have to re install I will but would rather not the /oracle_store is on another drive and I have no data on it... When I first loaded the system it wouldn't find the usb mouse... so I added modprobe <usb-ohci> to rc.local or wherever, it went in ok because that file is controlled by yast and Suseconfig can pick it up, but as for the rest of the /etc config files, yast seems to be overlooking them, and actually hate to say it, but ignoring them completely.

No not trying to change root files as user. Trying to change root files as superuser root. Nice idea but access.conf is not accessible through /etc/sysconfig. niether are lots of other important files. On 8.0, if I make modifications to files in /etc (for instance, access.conf) the system doesn't notice the changes. anyone know how to get the updated files to be recognized by the system?

Hello, I have some problem with Procmail (I use Postfix/Fetchmail/Procmail/Mutt). Normally my /home/user/.procmailrc file is configured to distribute e-mails to different directories according to sender. Yesterday it stopped distributing mails in different directories and all mails were sent to default mailbox /var/mail/user I want to check .procmailrc with vi and I have error messages: E297 erreur d'écriture dans le fichier swap. E297 writing error in swap file. when I open the file If I want to modify the file (instruction :wq in vi): erreur d'écriture - système de fichier plein. writing error - filesystem full. I remember I captured audio files (.wav files) before the problem occurred and I had a 220Mb large file in /home/user (/dev/hda9) directory. I deleted this file and the vi errors disappeared. ==== But Procmail keeps not distributing the files in the different directories like said in .procmailrc and the messages keeps being distributed in /var/mail/user (not in /home/user/Mail and MAILDIR=/home/alain/Mail in .procmailrc config file). The .procmailrc file has worked without problems till the problems occurred. If I check /var/log/messages or /var/log/warn I have the messages: Sep 28 23:16:21 portable procmail[1634]:suspiciousrcfile"/home/user/.procmailrc" Can somebody tell me what is "suspicious" in my .procmailrc file? It looks thus like the .procmailrc is not read correctly. .procmailrc file is not read SOLVED

Problem solved permissions of .procmailrc were changed from rw------- to rwxrwxr-- and I fixed it. Alain I have some problem with Procmail (I use Postfix/Fetchmail/Procmail/Mutt). LiLo and a Memory mix up

I know that my second memory (unbuffered DIMMs)stick, -one and two are both 64 MB-, is failing at 127,3MB. Wanting to buy 258MB I found that for the moment the supply of those sticks is interrupted and I have to live until there is new stock with my slightly imperfect memory. I have two questions. First: If I request KDE the use of my memory the information I am given is that my total physical memory is 126.45.as Linux found some more bad memory during booting? Or else where is the 1.55MB which is not accounted for? Second: If I want to exclude the bad part of the memory for use I heard that this could be done by inserting mem=127M in my Lilo.conf. I did and after running lilo I got following info: "unrecognised token mem at or above line 18 in /etc/lilo.conf" What went wrong. I read the man lilo and see nothing wrong. -- NTReader v0.36w(P)/Beta (Registered) in conjunction with Net-Tamer.
