Is amavis working for me?

I have installed amavis and find following log entry in /var/log/mail: Dec 9 17:25:09 dns amavis[12657]: starting. amavis 0.3.12pre5 Mon Mar 25 21:10:14 UTC 2002 Dec 9 17:25:10 dns amavis[12657]: do_exit:832 - ending execution with 0 Dec 9 17:25:10 dns sendmail[12655]: gB99P6sA012655: Milter add: header: X-Virus-Scanned: by amavis-milter (http://amavis.org/) First and last line is ok for me, but what does do_exit:832 means ??? Talk and XTalk.

Dear my friends, I need to utilize talk in my office. but I don't know how to configure talk. This is the first time for me to use this talk software. If I just execute : "talk" in the console menu than I will find this error message : " [No connection yet] ___________________________________________ [error on read from talk daemon : Connection refused. Press any key]--- " I know that I have to configure talk-server (talk daemon) firstly. I know because there must be a software which working as a daemon to listen the call from another station. But I don't something usable in "/etc" directory. I thought there should something like this "/etc/talk.conf" and may be I can launch the talk daemon like this "talk-server" in the console line. I am having no luck yet. SuSE does see my pcmcia card, but not the network. After reading docs on SuSE's website I am getting the impression I do not need to compile a new kernel, just config it, but no joy. Two domain created in 1 NIS Server and the same machine.

Dear my Buddies.... I have to separate my LAN into 2 domains now. But I have only 1 machine now. Is it possible to have 1 samba server and 2 NIS domain in one Linux box ? help with installing compiler

Hi all, Trying to install a software package and it seems "the compiler" isn't installed right. I don't really understand what that means, but I am determined to walk away from Microslop so I plug onward following explicit instructions and hoping for the best. Right now I don't know how to work so well in Linux. When I try to do as the README asks for installing the software, I get this response: ./configure loading cache ./config.cache checking for ranlib... ranlib checking for gcc... gcc checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... yes checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) is a cross-compiler... no checking whether we are using GNU C... yes checking whether gcc accepts -g... yes checking for c++... no checking for g++... no checking for gcc... gcc checking whether the C++ compiler (gcc ) works... no configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C++ compiler cannot create executables. I've browsed all over the YaST software list to try to figure out how to "reinstall the compiler" and the manuals too, but don't see anything that describes this process. Any help on this? Can anybody explain to me why i'm not able to format linux partitions on ide hd's in raid 0 on my abit kr7a 133 raid 133? I updated bios with the last one comprehending hpt bios version 2.32 Please help me or i'll be forced to use windows xp! :) Thanx Black imp

unable to ftp from mc

I know that your are supposed to be able to ftp from the command line in mc, midnight commander v 4.5.55, and I have in the past in other distro's. I am now in SuSE 8.1 and have not been able to ftp in mc. /#ftp:ftp.mozilla.org/pub I can from the cl as:> mc /#ftp:ftp.mozilla.org/pub. Am I missing something or is it broken or do I have an env var set wrong? New SAMBA PDC does not run logon script

Hello, everyone. I have my new server (SuSE 8.1 Pro) up and running, but there are a couple of nagging issues with Samba. I have transferred my old Samba settings/files to my new server, and my shares all show up fine, and I can map drives as before. However, the logon script no longer runs when a user logs in on a client PC. I mainly use this file to map the drives to the correct share, which I have been able to set up manually. My concern is that this problem points to Samba not being set up properly, which bothers me a great deal. Anyone else had a similar problem and managed to overcome it ? I have installed the latest Samba updates via YOU, but that didn't help. Thanks, Stuart.
