importing address book (ascii text with "," delimiter)

I have SuSE Professional 7.1 which has Star Office 5.2 installed. I want to import my address book from Sidekick which is an ascii text file with "," as a delimiter. How can I import it to Star office 5.2? TIA jozien

Hello SuSE folkz, Could somebody please help me to solve this problem. It becomes annoying and driving me nuts. I run KDE 2.1 and I'm getting this messages in /var/log/warn Mar 19 18:18:41 linux kernel: Sound: Recording overrun Mar 19 18:19:14 linux last message repeated 644 times Mar 19 18:19:40 linux last message repeated 864 times Mar 19 18:21:42 linux kernel: Sound: Recording overrun Mar 19 18:22:27 linux last message repeated 1123 times I already tried choosing to select just one probed mixers options in KDE Mixer - Control Center setting. But it didn't help. I have Creative LABs AWE32 ISA sound card compiled into kernel. Out of this messages it's working great. What should I do to fix this problem? Thank you in advance. Macintosh MacBinary Self-Mounting Disk Images

Does this sound off topic? Well, actually it's not as off topic as you might think. My Linux box (the one I'm on now)had 19 MacBinary files (that form the 19 disks of Mac OS System 7.5.3 from Apple.com) and I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to some how use dd to create the disks I need. See, the problem is, I have an old Apple Powerbook 140 running System 7.0.1, and I would like to update it to 7.5.3. However, firstly it only has 17 megs of free space (so I can't fit all of these images on it), and even if I could it also doesn't have software for internet connections. This as I've said is where Linux comes in. I would like to (somehow) take these self mounting images (SMI) and create diskettes with them. Is this possible? ATAPI zip drives

Hi everyone, Has anyone had any luck getting an ATAPI zip drive to work under 7.1? It worked perfectly under 6.4, but now I cannot mount a zip disk. I keep getting "bad superblock" errors when ever I try to mount a disk. I have tried msdos and vfat as the filesystems. I know that the drive is detected correctly. I have tried mounting it as /dev/hdd, and /dev/hdd[1-8] with no success. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Victor -- Victor R. IMPS/2 Intellimouse & X crashes?

Hello all! Since I configured my IMPS/2 Intellimouse in 7.1 I've been having a frustrating problem with X-crashes. It often happens when I got more than one window open at the same time and when I try to move one of them, then everything freezes for a couple of seconds, then the screen goes black for a few seconds and the next thing that comes up is the login page. Note: when I leave the computer with the SuSE -> System -> unspecified -> Screensaver (XScreensaver I assume) for more than 15-20 minutes it probably crashes because when I'm back it's got the login page up. Usb Mouse Config Problem

Hi all, I've been trying to get my usb mouse to work under linux for quite a while now and still with no success. I am using version 3.3 of XFree86 and i have the following in my pointer section of XF86Config.eg: protocol "ps/2" device "/dev/input/mice" I got these parameters from the linux-usb website and i did do the mknod for the mice. Apparently, X does not think the mice is a device but when i cat it, it responds to my mouse movements. When i try using /dev/usbmouse instead, it does not give me any mouse errors, but my mouse still does not work. Any suggestions would be helpful. gphoto and 7.1 and xfree4

Does anyone know if the gphoto with 7.1 is only for X3.3.6 or will it work with X4. I want to use it but because of some of my laptop's programs and video I have need to run X4. thanks in advance scsijon
