Hi, I use pine to read my mail how do i get to use pgp in pine, When messages r filtered in pine and sent to a specified folder how do i know that there is a message in that folder. Hello, I have a problem with procmail. I want reply a message to some senders, but I can't. I put this in .procmailrc file in user's home directory: <bold>SENDMAIL=/usr/sbin FORMAIL=/usr/bin :0c | (formail -r; cat $HOME/vacation.txt) | sendmail -t </bold> But when I send a mail to this user never reply to me the messages What is the problem? I compiled kernel 2.4.2 and now working without problems except my SCSI CD-RW Yamaha. On boot i received Loading module aic7xxx; insmod: aic7xxx no module by that name found. In /lib/modules/2.4.2/kernel/drivers/scsi/aic7xxx/ i have aic7xxx.o. Please help me. Thanks. Mitja

Ok, I don't get it. Almost every time I build a kernel, my system becomes unbootable. By that I mean when I reboot, I get as far as "LIL-". I've built many, many kernels in every version since 6.0, and I never had any problems until 7.0, and now 7.1. I follow the same routine I always did: make xconfig make dep make clean make bzImage make modules make modules_install make bzlilo In 7.1 I chose to install the 2.2.18 and 2.4 kernels. I end up with several kernels to choose from in the boot menu: linux linux2.4 suse In /boot, there are several versions of System.map, and several versions of initrd. If I build a new 2.4 kernel, do I have to make a new initrd as well? How do I do this? I noticed that /lib/modules/2.2.18 has tons of modules in it. But /lib/modules/2.4-4GB has hardly any. Why are these "stock" kernel & module configurations so different? Why so few in the 2.4 kernel? Why are all the stock kernels Pentium optimized? It seems to me that AMD is popular enough that there ought to be a "stock" kernel that is optimized for AMD. In /usr/src, I have linux, linux-2.2.18, linux-2.4.0.SuSE, linux-2.4.0-4GB, and possibly one other I think (not sure). "linux" points to linux-2.4.0.SuSE. But if I run the above steps in /usr/src/linux, the image which gets created is vmlinuz which corresponds to the "linux" choice in the boot menu, which always comes up as the 2.2.18 kernel. I'm very confused. Maybe I have forgotten something...? Can someone help me sort this out? X programs in KDE2

Can someone explain why some X programs work in KDE1 and not in KDE2. These are not KDE related programs so I'm guessing something in X display from within KDE2 Thanks John -- Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realization of how much you already have.

OT (non-US characters in LyX under SuSE 7.1 & KDE 2.01)

Hello! I have Croatian characters (although it seems that there is no Croatian keyboard layout in KDE 2.x, I have to use Slovenian) in all applications under KDE 2.x. However, in LyX I cannot enter Croatian characters since LyX 1.1.6fix1 uses Xforms 0.89 and I was told that Xforms has its own handling of keyboard events. Any idea how to fix it? Sincerely, Sasa

Hi, I yesterday downloaded the RPMs for KDE2(update for SUSE7.0) from the SUSE ftp site. I installed the RPM and rebooted my SUSE system. When the x-login appeared I logged-in. The KDE2 started.....(I saw a blue background screen), than my x-server restarted and there was my login prompt again. What am I doing wrong. Does anyone had this problem??? Greetings...

I didn't know the GPL said: Every distribution working on Linux has to create an iso image for the general public for download through linuxiso.org. What is the norm? Aren't all Linux users, people who stray from the norm(Windows) anyhow? I think it is good they produce no evaluation iso because then there is no conflict with YaST and its licensing issues. Problem solved. The stuff linuxiso.org writes doesn't even make clear if they are just upset about SuSE not bringing out an iso or if they are upset YaST has a proprietory license.
