mail server II problems

Dear friends , I have suse Email server II as well as Suse Email Enterprise edition 7 .2 for IA 32 .Some how i am not able to configure disk mirroring on compaq ML-370 G2 . using the email server package . But in case of enterprise server pack i am able to configure raid .My raid controller card is SA 532 . Is there any possibility thet i install suse enterprise edn as base and the email server over it .I want to use the administration features of suse email server but raid 1 is a must OR is there any ne who has set raid 1 with suse email server ...II please share ur experiences. .. any sugge=stins Please respond . neeraj

mrtg and ppp

Hi, I have an ADSL connection which is running via rp-pppoe (that is I have ppp0 as the internet device.) When I run the cfgmaker it does found the ppp0 interface yet comments out so it can not be used. nsl_iso8859-1 module

Hi, I can not figure out how to get rid of the nls_iso8859-1 module getting loaded everytime I mount a CD: The module I need would be nls-iso8859-9 and yet when I loaded manualy it stays unused and less starts showing the characters improperlt for Turkish language (which is normal for iso-8859-1). Wher can I change this behaviour of loading the wrong language suport module to the proper one. TIA -- Togan Muftuoglu

Hello, I am trying to install 4.1. Tim's Upgrade Rant: October Edition or Why SuSE has financial problems.

Okay I'll admit it, I'm excited about SuSE 7.3. I'm running SuSE 7.1, and I can't wait to get my shiny new copy. BUT, SuSE is really getting crazy this time around. I noticed that the upgrade version of 7.3 is still $49.95, but the description says "SuSE Linux 7.3 Update Edition, is a full version of 7.3 Professional Edition, but without the manuals." Am I reading this right? No manuals. Okay, I thought that the Update Edition came with some manuals, and I still thought it was expensive. Now lets do the math: Ten cents per CD times 7 cds equals seventy cents. Lets say the DVD costs a whopping five dollars. Okay. Now we have $5.70. Hmm... Okay, lets say the box costs another $5. That's $10.70. Now, that means in an upgrade version material costs likely add up to less than 1/4 of the price (only about a 1/5 actually!). What exactly is SuSE doing with the other $40? It's just the patches. The .config is part of the kernel RPM. If you have a SuSE kernel running, change to /usr/src/linux and run 'make cloneconfig'. That will copy the configuration of the running kernel to .config and then runs 'make oldconfig' which will stop at any new option and ask you for input. Hm, I remember being asked for the kernel I wanted to install. Well let's not argue. In any case, you have 1 CPU - get rid of the SMP kernel and go for a UP one, it may even make your machine faster (though not much). The vmware modules are already installed for the vmware shpping with 7.2, if vmware, wehn startedm, still wants to install them it should install the already compiled modules for 7.2. That shouldn't need version.h. In any case, vmware uses a flag somewhere to see whether it has installed the correct modules when it was first started, if you fiddle taht to make it shut up you'll be fine. Also, you're likely to be better off to download the lates 2.x vmware (2.0.4) from their website instead of using the SuSE 7.2-supplied one. Then use my instructions from my web site, after installing (and booting) the 2.4.4-4GB single processor kernel. Volker

kmail without KDE

Hi, I've been searching forever for the perfect linux email client, and I've found it with Kmail 1.3.1. It's the only Linux client I know that supports IMAP and PGP well. Anyway, I don't use KDE and every once and a while I watch my cpu meter in Enlightenment shoot up and when I look it is 'kdeinit' that is running away . . . caused by kmail being run for sure. The question is, is it okay to run kmail outside of KDE? I thought so, but perhaps I am wrong . . .
