Hi everyone, Recently ( that is if I remember correctly) there was a discussion that sendmail was not secure and qmail was much better. Taking this into consideration I was just thinking to swich to qmail but the below is stopping me. The question is three folds A. Is this possibly a qmail bug related issue B. Some where am I having to send mail ??? C. OR the configuration of the qmail at the suse mail server is having some problems :-(( It is hard to assume this is the case. hi folks.. is it possible (for the superuser) to monitor a remote login on telnet by seeing exactly what the logged in person is doing .. like what he is typing and what he is seeing on the screen ? [SLE] Kernel 2.2.15 crashes with gcc-2.95.2

Hi all, I have been cooking my own kernels at home since 2.0.x days. Recently I upgraded to 6.4 which included gcc-2.95.2 as the default compiler. I compiled kernel 2.2.15 and upon booting it, it freezes after lilo has uncompressed it. I have tried recompiling many times with the same effect. I see the same effect with 2.2.14 too. Has anyone compiled 2.2.15 on 6.4? Is it just me or there is something wrong? I have never faced problems with kernels except when I did it the first time. [SLE] DNS for home PC -- dynamic dns

Hello I have a home PC from which I connect to ISP . I am running SuSE 6.3. Till now , my hostname was linux.local But i went and obtained a dynamic dns from dyndns.org. So I changed my hostname to www and the domain name to cheedu.dyndns.org ( for that was my name there). Now every time i connect to an isp , i use a package called ddup to update my ip address there. But when i telnet on to my system from outside using my ip address, it works ok ; but when i use my domain name it asks for a password and no login name and all my passwords that i enter are wrong. SuSE patched or stock kernels? Do they both freeze at the same point or does one get further than the other? If so where does the freeze occur? Are you using initrd? [SLE] newbie | mount or ftp

Hi, I have been backing up by making a tar ball manually then establishing a link with ftp software to a sco unix machine (which is mirrored on dat tape every night) and uploding the ball. The sco machine is here in the building. This is crude I know. What would be the best approach? I have considered a script to make the tar ball then log on to the remote machine and ftp it up or would I be better to try and mount the remote machine and then copy the ball across? Whichever way, any suggestions as to how I start to go about it?
