[SLE] Network Setup

Hi everyone, A friend of mine wants to have his 8 PC's (which are currently running Win98 with network support) to have Linux as the OS. What would be the ideal situation to set up the server and the workstations. I thought of having them as booting from the server and using their HD as their swap partition since these machines have 32 MB RAM only. Any suggestions are appreciated. [SLE] My network card refuse to work...

Hi to all in this mailing list, I have installed my Suse 6.4 and all is work fine except my NIC card, This card is based on DEC chip 21143, the rest of my system is an Athlon (AMD) 700 with 128 mb RAM, 14 Gb Ide disk all for Suse... YaST configure my card correctly, but the network is unreachable, YaST2 crashed tryng to configure network!!! I try others drivers without result... I have no problem with my "old" Suse 6.3 on the same system... Do you have some hints for me? Well, to be honest, I can't directly help with any of your problems. Both those sites mention the SB Live 512 as supported, so your card might not be supported in the stable kernel yet. I would recommend posting a request for help on comp.os.linux.hardware. A search of the newsgroups at Deja (www.deja.com) shows that people are using this card with Linux, but no one mentions ALSA. [SLE] WinTV Go?

Apologise for bringing out this subject again. I have installed the WinTV Go card in my SuSE box, 6.2/2.2.10, and both Kwintv and Xawtv are able to work with it. But!, there is no channel list for Singapore? and it is very boring to watch the same channel whole day without able to switch channel. :-( Need help on: 1. How to setup channel list for Singapore? by scanning it is unable to work (with selecting the PAL-Europe setting) 2. Where is the default.ch? Is this the one use for setting the channel? 3. Is there any auto scan method to setup the channel? I do not know how the default channel is setup or pick by the card, but I has been watch the same channel for the last two weeks and still unable to figure this out. Help please. Thank you. Hi all, I run Apache 1.3.12 on my Lan ( don't know what version my hosting company runs ) An URL such as http://www.schoolcircle.com/sports shows up on *their* servers .. but locally i have to add the trailing "/" to view the index page ..as in http://www.schoolcircle.com/sports/ ....... Can i 'fix' this somewhere in httpd.conf ? A few months ago, Alan Cox posted a nifty little booger on his pages about copying anything from the X cut buffer, clicking on a GNOME icon/panel app, and it firing up Netscape to do a Google search on the contents of the cut buffer. [SLE] Dual booting Linux & Win2000

Hello folks, Does anyone know how to configure lilo (and Win2000) so that I can dual boot between Linux and Windows 2000, in my specific case, where the two are on separate disks (hdc for linux & hdd for win2000) ? The Multiboot-with-LILO Howto covers win98 and winNT, but has no windows 2000 details as yet. Help!
