[SLE] Fetchmail 5.41 warning

If you are using fetchmail 5.41 with uidl then be warned that if a session timeouts, on the next run fetchmail will delete the all the mail that it should have downloaded without downloading the mail. I just watched it delete 15 mails that it had not downloaded. [SLE] Sendmail and Dialup connection

Hello Everyone, I'll make this "Short and Sweet". Has anyone been able to use Sendmail (in SuSE 6.4) with a dialup PPP connection ? If you are one of the lucky ones that has been successful in getting Sendmail to receive & send mail, please respond back as to how you were able to do so. [SLE] burning CD's

I have followed the howto on burning CD's. I created the image file and mounted it, all looks fine. Then I burned the CD. When I mount the CD under Windows NT4.0 SP6a there are no long file names. A lot of the names are simply cut off. Where did I go wrong, in creating the image or in burning the CD? Can someone straigten me out? I know about the 'www' (got Apache running), but the rest I don't need and don't want. How/where can I disable them? The box is running SuSE 6.1 by the way, kernel 2.2.5. [SLE] YaST2, problem persists

Last night, I tried upgrading to XFree 4.0, and was promptly greeted by a problem with the fixed font missing, and a malfunctioning SaX2. Anyway, I tried backing out using a backup XFree 3.3.6, and when that didn't work, I decided to try re-installing SuSE since that would save some trouble and give me a chance to explore YaST2 some more. BTW, if anyone has a suggestion for my XFree 4.0 problem, using the rpms from 6.4, please let me know... Anyway, once again YaST2 successfully figured out the names of my hardware, and once again YaST2 incorrectly setup my sound card. It's weird, ALSA is suppose to support the AU8820 chipset, and YaST2 correctly guess the name was "Turtle Beach Montego A3D", but if I try the configuration option it doesn't know what driver to use, and doesn't let me pick manually, nor tell it to skip installing it. So, even though my card is in the SuSE Hardware DB and the ALSA DB, I had to remove ALSASOUND from the rc.d and repair modules.conf so that I could use AUREAL's own driver. [SLE] powerpoint (ugh)

Hi, Am frequently asked to prepare presentations for hardware supplied on site by course organisers etc etc. They only ever have win and powerpoint. Does anyone know of a way of creating powerpoint compatible presentations under linux? Please do not suggest Star ffice (unless you have to) it scattered so many files everywhere when I tried to install it and then refuses to install because it says it is time expired and etc etc etc .
