[SLE] Uninstall help

HELP. I am taking an online class at Phoenix University, and they require OE and Windows products or class work and email posting with IMAP servers. I have 6.3 installed and want to download Star office 5.2 for the office suite. I hate to uninstall Line- until I can get a larger hard drive, I see Netscape won't support POP and IMAP servers for my personal and school email, can SO 5.2? I also need to know if any business users have formatting problems in documents in SO 5.2 to word documents- so i can use linux for all applications- even school. Hmm... I for one would be curious as to why the setup on the Sun doesn't require you to run sendmail -q -- not that I am going to be running out and getting a Sun UltraSparc anytime soon (I wish!), but just out of curiousity. FWIW, for those instances where you don't have the luxury of that Sun's setup, one way to automate things a little more, especially if you have a mail service like mine (Yahoo!) which requires pop3 authentication before you can send any smtp mail, is to add the following line to the end of your .fetchmailrc: postconnect "/usr/sbin/sendmail -q" That way as soon as fetchmail finishes retrieving mail, and whatnot, sendmail will fire up and send any queued outgoing messages. [SLE] SuSE 6.4-eval memory problem?

Hi Yesterday I installed SuSE 6.4-eval (CD burned from ISO) on a PIII 750 MHz with 128 MB memory. Installation went perfect, but linux now reports that the system has 64 MB instead of 128 MB which is reported by the computer's BIOS and also by Win98SE... [SLE] Speedstepping

I have a Dell Inspiron 5000 laptop, which has a speedstep Intel CPU. I understand that the latest kernels (2.2.15 and onwards) support speedstepping, and now that 2.2.16 has been released I might get to use it. How does the speed stepping work under Linux? Does it require any user space software or configuration? How to I find out what the speed is? Will it effect my applications in any way? There are numerous X-server emulation packages that run under Windows 95/98/Nt and turn your client into a networked X-terminal. I am using a demo of a package called ViewNow/Xoftware by a company called NetManage. There are others out there, Xceed, Reflections, and others. No problem at all here. Just make sure your smarthost setting is correct and that you're dialling into the right isp - many don't allow mail relaying from outside their own domain. Curious if anyone was successful in doing it. I got an access violation when I tried. Anyone successful in installing this software ? I also noticed that the kernel that Java for Linux was tested under is a much new version that what SUSE offers. Is that a big deal ?
