No. You don't have to do anything. It works like a CD it contains an ISO9660 filesystem, so you don't have to deal with UDF. Hello, I was looking for kde 'rpm for 6.1 and found the ones for 6.2. I started reading readme files, stating that I needed SuSE 6.2. Ok, but why? Is it a question of libs (glibc.xx)? Or what? The problem isn't only that it won't boot, but also I can't read any files off the disc. I can't even get a directory listing... [SLE] XFree 3.3.6

Hi boys, I've read that XFree 3.3.6 is available as source code and I seem remembering that once I was told that recompiled XFree is faster than standard rpm, (and this seems logical for compatibility). Did anybody already managed the whole process of compiling and installing a new release from sources? Is there any particular hint for SuSE 6.1? I've done a lot of times with kernel (now 2.2.14 recompiled), but never with XFree. Hello, I'm using CD paranoia to extract wav's from music cd's. I am looking for a good app to convert these to mp3. I am also looking for a good app to convert mp3's to wav so I can burn them to cd. Any suggestions? Huh? That was KDE on Corel Linux! I htink the statement that Linux was gaining desktop dominance was a bit premature.... Just wait till they get Linus on Blue Peter. Any UK based users see the piece on Microsoft's troubles on the BBC this morning? It was a news piece about MS's difficulties getting into non PC based markets, etc, and had probably 30 seconds worth of a look at an upcoming competitor: Linux. The front end was GNOME and they mentioned it was given away for free. No great shakes I suppose, but it's the first time Linux has had general newsreel exposure in the UK AFAIK. Do you have a DVD drive ?? :)))) I have also the DVD edition unfortunately it it nowhere written in the doc that you have to write 'update' to start YAST. At last I had to find out with try&error. (Ok, it is written in the sdb on the website of SuSE.) After updating the suse 6.2 to 6.3 my SCSI subsystem didn't work (I didn't find an SCSI kernel and the system somehow didn't recognize that I had an SCSI card/disk. Even LILO didn't install the new kernel because it ended with error.
