[SLE] zip issues

Hello all, I have been having troubles with Zip disks while in X. I am wondering if after installing this .. Term-ReadLine-Gnu-1.08.tar.gz .. it could cause changeline problems with zipdisk and floppies? E.g.is it specifically aimed at preparing students for the LPI-exams? [SLE] 100 dpi fonts in setup

I've just set my fonts to 100 dpi by default following the X Font de-uglification howto. The difference is remarkable. Why didn't SuSE do this for me automatically when I did my X setup? Is there a reason to give someone selecting 1024x768 or higher res the tiny fonts? I see how Microsoft's "Use large fonts" option works now! How about it SuSE? To explain our font path list: This was to get the best compromise between StarOffice and KDE apps looking good at the same time. With the X suggested list, StarOffice looks awful and almost unreadable with small fonts. With our listing you can go right down to 6 on our 17" screen and still be able to read the text at zoom 1:1. The list was cut and pasted directly from XF86Config. [SLE] 2.2.14 oopsing with Vmware

I upgraded my kernel to (a handrolled) 2.2.14 last night from 2.2.13. Seemed OK until I ran vmware, which caused an oops. Vmware is 1.1.2 and is fine under 2.2.13. Anyone else seen this? [SLE] Bind 8 Install

Can anyone point newbie (me) to an idiots guide to installing Bind 8 on SuSe 6.1 ? I have downloaded the two RPM bind8 8.2.2 & bindutil 8.2.2 but I am getting a heap of conflicts when I try to install. I have tried uninstalling Bind (4 I take it) from my computer but I then get messages of missing files during install of Bind 8. I think it was /etc/sbin/named that was missing. Any help / pointers greatly appreciated.
