David, Thanks for the assistance. I recompiled the kernel w/o the ide-cdrom support and successfully burned 2 cd's. I even got to play audio cd's, but the KDE CD player is buggy. [SLE] ftp-proxy configuration

Hi, Has anyone got SuSE's ftp-proxy working? If your setting it on a firewall machine what do you use for the DestinationAddress? The IP of the 2nd interface or one of the machines' IP's behind the firewall? I read the docs and they're not complete, especially the part on the config file. I'm so proud! I got ftp-proxy to at least see connections from the browser. I set this in /etc/proxy-suite/ftp-proxy.conf AllowMagicUser yes DestinationAddress 192.168.1.10 DestinationTransferMode client Listen 192.168.1.1 Port 8020 Unfortunately, I get the following in syslog ftp-child[349]: USER-INF connect from 192.168.1.10 ftp-child[349]: USER-WRN unknown 'GET' from 192.168.1.10 ftp-child[349]: USER-WRN unknown 'Proxy-Connection:' from 192.168.1.10 ftp-child[349]: USER-WRN unknown 'User-Agent:' from 192.168.1.10 ftp-child[349]: USER-WRN unknown 'Host:' from 192.168.1.10 ftp-child[349]: USER-WRN unknown 'Accept:' from 192.168.1.10 ... The browser does recieve error messages from ftp-proxy but then it stalls. I wonder is ftp-proxy trying to get ident info from the client? If identd is not up or not configured correct then I can understand the timeout. [SLE] Entire HD or partitioning ?

Hi, I finally decided to abandon Windows. Up till now, I had -as most of us I think- the choice between booting Win98 or SuSE 6.0. Since I'm upgrading to SuSE 6.3, the whole HD will be Linux. Now the question, When using Yast, I have the possibility to use the whole disk instead of partitioning. I presume it's possible to make a swap and native partition from that point. Is this correct and how does it involve the booting process ? Just hit the power switch and relax ... ? [SLE] Changing Linux Drives

Hi I have SuSE 6.1 installed onto /dev/hdc and boot via a floppy with LILO (/dev/hda is an old unused hard disk). Is there an (easy) way of setting it up so that linux automatically boots. Obviously i need to change the drive over to the primary controller (/dev/hda). Apart from /etc/fstab, are there any other changes i need to make? Also, at home I recompiled my kernel to include SCSI emulation and created a boot disk to boot that kernel. The boot disk does not use LILO - it comes up with "Loading Linux......" straight away. Is there any way i could have a similar setup for the hard disk. Hello, Sinc my upgrade to 6.x i'm having problems decrypting messages encrypted with PGP. Whenever i try to decrypt a file it gives the following error: Unsupported package format - you need a newer version of PGP with this file. I've tried it with the version 2.6.3i from th 6.3 distro, and the same problem. With version unix50i1b from distro 5.2 (pgpv) i have no problems. I don't know about your ADSL provider, but Bell South uses PPPoE over ADSL. Everything works fine with Winblows boxes, but Linux requires the PPPoE stuff. I have never configured this, though.
