[S.u.S.E. Linux] Installation problems

1. Linux 5.2 is base-installed, under default package configuration plus components from 'n' (network) package set. 2. Boot looks fine. named is started (although I am not sure I set up anything for that expllicitly, probably under 'portmap' daemon) 3. eth0 is set up and works fine. 4. ppp0 is set up, both local and remote IP are 0.0.0.0 5. local ping works fine (ovr the LAN segment subnet). Now is the big one. 6. ping to an outside IP returns "Network is unreachable" Log of /etc/suseppp/scripts/ppp-up <provider> returns no errors and shoes 2 IPs assigned (local/remote). I can not speak for other video card. I had a Stingray/Hecules 128/3dfx rush board It used SuSE's ATD3 X server, it worked very well, until I wanted to play good 3dfx games over linux. like Quake. I had the oporunity to buy a new motherboard with a bigger cache and it boasted a AGP port (FIC 2012) So I decided : Voodoo2 is comming out very soon, and so i went with the mobo and bought an Expert@Work AGP to fit the agp port, after some downloading of the SuSE (updated from the 5.1 disks) Mach64 X server, and some configuation, I got it working almost flawlessly, except for one error at a X logoff, np I gona get that fixed. I have bought WP7 and Applix4.3 student version. So well this is my opinon so its mine, and you Hi Steven; My wife & I use WP 4.2 under DOS. While for me it's ok, no big deal, my wife loves it. I, at first, thought about upgrading to WP7/Linux but the price stopped me. Yes, I know that it's not much, but my entire computer bugget for the year is only 240 DM (ca. 150$). So it's out. Here in Germany alot of the Computer mags have CD with them. Some of them have Linux software on them. One of them is saying that they'll have Star Office on in one or two months. I hope so. The main thing I'm looking for now is a replacement for M$ Publisher. I need to be able to layout a bulletin and all I have is Publisher. If Star Office can handle layouts then I can delete all of M$ Windows.
