[SuSE Linux] Mannesmann Tally Printer

HI All Does anyone use a Mannesmann Tally printer the "MT" series? Or the DDR made Praesident 6320 printer? I've the Praesident printer which is the same as the Mannesmann printer. I need to know how (and if) you have it printing PS file under gv. BTW email me I'm only on the English list. [SuSE Linux] Mouse right button Toshiba 300CDS

<font size=3>I've managed to configure SuSE and X on my laptop, but I cannot get my right mouse button working. My kernel supports P/S2 and Logitech. I've tried the internal mouse an external P/S2 and a glidepoint. All work fine, except for the right button. I've tried BIOS with auto-detect and simultaneous mouse action activated. I am using 3-button emulation in the Xconfig. Any ideas?<br> <br> -Ron Lavoie </font>

[SuSE Linux] kfm ftp proxy

Has anyone noticed that you can set up an http proxy for kfm but if you set up an ftp proxy in the same dialogue box, kfm will no longer be able to connect to any ftp sites? Anyone know if this is a configuration problem or a bug? The easiest way would probably be to install diald (on-demand connect) Set diald to disconnect after 10 minutes of no activity. Then all you need should be a crontab entry pinging your ISP every 5 minutes. This way diald would never disconnect itself, and if the connection goes down, the crontab entry will get it up again within a few minutes. samy, there are only a few posts to this list concerning any aspect of applix... I did purchase it and have used it about 4 yrs ago so my memory is not detailed and the versions changed somewhat... what I do remember is that it is a complete MSoffice replacement, it has an ELF programming language which is good but different than any other language we would use so the learning curve is high, but the language compatibility with all the packages is more complete then any package I've seen.... [SuSE Linux] daily kernel core dumps

I have noticed that my system has daily core dump in the root / directory. The only binaries on / are the kernels. This has happened with kernels SuSE 5.2 through 2.0.36 Is anyone experiencing the same problem? It is odd that a kernel core dumps on a daily basis. What and how, do I look for in the core dump, to detect the error? TIA. [SuSE Linux] Re: PPP on machine boot?

I am using SuSE linux. I want to setup my system to startup at bootup time. So, I added "ppp-on" in the /etc/init.d/boot.local script. On Slackware, I am familiar with /etc/sysconfig/ directory and it's contents. What is the equal of this directory on SuSE? I would also like to have my ppp connection up all the time. In case, the connection is lost, how do I redial to the ppp server automatically? Thank you in advance. [SuSE Linux] SuSE 5.3 ate my termials option, or did it?

With SuSE 5.2 I could (from within KDE) press ALT-F2, ALT-F3, etc.., and jump from KDE to a new command line terminal for each ALT-F_. ALT-F7 then took me back to KDE. I just did a fresh install of SuSE 5.3 (from one of the $1.99 flavor single CD cheepo editions), and when I press ALT-F_ nothing happens, and I remain in KDE. Did I goof up, or is this my punishment for not purchasing the full SuSE release of version 5.3?
