Tumbleweed, Clamd is spamming my journal with thousand of line of "path check failures" making it de facto unreadable

Hi, I need some input to understand what is wrong. I have some problems with my system (sddm during login on the main monitor, while all other monitors log in just fine) so I wanted to search my journal for some feedback. What is happening here and how to fix it? Currently the journal (a part of ever growing size, because these are pages and pages, is useless because unreadable. Thank you.

firewalld & wsdd

Hi, I have a system that was upgraded to OpenSuSE 15.6 x64 and now firewalld is whimpering about a service called wsdd. Whenever I try to make a change with firewall-command, such as adding or removing a service to be allowed/disallowed by the firewall, and then trying to update my permanent setting from my runtime settings, I get bitched at by firewall-config and get told to run the following command - > #firewall-offline-cmd --check-config > Configuration error: INVALID_SERVICE: Zone 'internal': 'wsdd' not > among existing services Any ideas why firewalld is belly-aching about "wsdd"? My Duck Duck Go searches tells me that wsdd is used to make shared files and directories visible to MS machines, which is a feature I want. Further research shows that there is no package in the repositories for wsdd for OpenSuSE 15.6, is this being dropped? If so, how do I fix this mess and retain the ability to share files with Windoz systems? As always, many thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out and guiding me back into the OpenSuSE light! Marc.. --

It is possible run the amdgpu propietary driver with openSUSE Tumbleweed?

Hello, In the AMD website, the "official" drivers for Linux are offered for SUSE Linux (ED & ES). But maybe it will work with Tumbleweed too?. Thanks, very much, in advance. Regards. Tumbleweed - After 10/26 update, Thunderbird 128.3.3esr hangs on checking feeds, 146% CPU?

All, After Tumbleweed update last night, Thunderbird has begun sticking when checking news feeds. (specifically the Archlinux new packages newsfeed) Thunderbird gets the information just fine, but the checking busy-icon in the folders-list keeps showing activity. This creates 146% CPU load continually (about 1/3 of a 4-core CPU) Has anyone else seen Tbird stick like it continually checking a newsfeed? If so, has anyone found a work-around? The only thing I can do is right-click and "pause" checking of the newsfeed and then Restart Thunderbird so it starts without checking the feed. There seems to be no way to "unstick" the newsfeed once it has been checked, it's just stuck on. This is Thunderbird 128.3.3esr from the main repository. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

For about one week Yast tells me of a bunch or updatable files which cannot be updated because of 'this-is-only-for-build-envs' missing. It started when I used a regular zypper dup for an update, which changed some packman packages to openSUSE. Did I miss something? Peter

clipboard plasma wayland / wl-copy - filter out a hex 0c -

I am trying to figure out whats going on here: opensusetumbleweed plasma wayland i have a text file, i like to have it inside my clipboard of kde/plasma. the line to copy it to the clipboards are: cat geht.txt | wl-copy cat geht.txt | wl-copy -p if the clipboard is empty (the small symbol on the right lower right of the screen) the symbol will appear and the text will be inside the clipboard. BUT if inside the file is a "hex 0C" (at the end or somewhere inside the text) it will not show up in the clipboard of plasma. (i am still able to read it with wl-paste) this hex number will be automatically generated at the end of the file when i make a .pdf file with libreoffice and pipe it to pdftotext here my small script for copying pdf-texts to the clipboard (the main advantage of this method is, the it looks like it should, not as if i copy it directly with mouse selection) ====pdf2clip============== #!/bin/bash if [[ $XDG_SESSION_TYPE = 'x11' ]] # bei x11: then pdftotext -layout "$1" - | xclip pdftotext -layout "$1" - | xclip -selection clipboard # bei wayland: else pdftotext -layout "$1" - | wl-copy pdftotext -layout "$1" - | wl-copy -p fi ============================= question 1: so i guess its a bug or a feature from wayland? question 2: did anybody who is familar with ark or sed or someting else know a filter i could put into the pipe to delete the "hex 0c" ? thanks in advance simoN -- www.becherer.de

All, This would be comical if it wasn't serious. I'm attempting to subscribe to the bugs mailing list.
